Agreed, I would like some others as well, but there is nothing wrong with potentially great food that is served in a bar, either. We have run into some all time favorites just by trying out new places/dishes, regardless of location/cost. Holleman Tavern has some really good food for example, that is also served in a bar.

I have no issue with bar food. The best patty melt I've ever eaten was in an absolute dive in Paige. But I'm not paying higher end prices for it either.

This town doesn't have enough of the demographic for elevated bar food, nor the sales per capita. Everyone here is either too old, too young or too married. No 25-40 yrs singles with six figure incomes.
Uh. no. Most of my friends are 25-40 year olds with 6 figure incomes. They also like to cook a lot and have get togethers rather then eat/drink out every day.
THAT said, this demographic is in fact dwarfed by the college kids with less money, and the retirees with less...taste I guess.

Well, it's a small percentage. 12% of the population is 25-40 here and of that who knows how many are married?? By the looks of the neighborhoods etc I would say a great majority are.

A much better concept than $18 biscuits and gravy and $26 burgers.

It's metro area is about 100k bigger than BCS and they don't have a university with 80k students.

They are not related at all. Red's in Beaumont is/was a hole in the wall type place with crawfish and seafood. Same name, totally different concepts, price points, and owners.
