Apparently the BCS Asian market is going to close this summer unless someone local buys it. I pulled this from bookface.

The owner couple of BCS Asian Grocery Store have been thinking of retirement at least for a couple of years, as their adult kids are in Houston, and they were originally coming from Houston to open their store here. Originally, they were thinking to get BCS locals to take over their store, but it is difficult to keep a grocery store like that without any prior experience.

Note: this couple used to partially own an Asian grocery store in Houston (on Bellaire).

Oh no! We love going there and finding fun chips and other goodies. Sure it's crowded and not all slick and glossy, but it has so much great stuff and the prices are awesome.
Why yes, yes I really do run the best (and only) BCS ICEE Guide!

It's not crowded, the checkstands are the only point where you may have to wait due to poor staffing/efficiency. It comes across as extremely low volume. If it ends up closing I think most if not all of the center will be redeveloped as townhomes or something.

I was thinking crowded more as in the aisles being so full of stuff. I never minded the wait at the checkout, it wasn't that long, though maybe it also just felt a bit nostalgic for the older registers.

I would say "cluttered" not crowded. You aught to go to the back area. There are boxes and carts full of expired packages, fruit and vegetables.

I used to go to the restaurant every week for lunch for years and sure miss it now. The one on University is nowhere near as good as they don't use the authentic Chinese ingredients.

It;s the only place in town you can buy fresh Chinese Szechuan pepper (which is not pepper).

Site plans submitted to the City of Bryan for the Shops at Carter Creek. Below are images from the Oldham Goodwin marketing materials.

There looks to be a multi-family unit component as well.

A couple of weeks ago I posted about a demolition permit being filed for the two La Quinta buildings south of Live Oak. Now, demolition permits have been filed for the restaurant property at 102 Live Oak which was most recently Rice Garden, along with a demolition permit for the old Taco Cabana (most recently Las Palapas) building.

It will be interesting to see the redevelopment plans now that permits to tear down all the buildings between Texas and Eisenhower along Live Oak have been filed. The owner of the property listed on the permits is Balous Miller, Chairman and former CEO of Bill Miller BBQ.

I live over there and liked the fact that we had some green space smack in the middle of town. Knew this would happen eventually though.

So not only is the retail component dinky (three 30k sq. ft. spaces looks like) but they didn't extend Wildflower out to it, so all that traffic has to go through the frontage roads with no turnaround lanes on either exit near the worst part of the highway right before a major construction project.

Great.

G3 God, Gold, Guns in Bryan will be closing soon according to owner's Facebook.
***********************************

Unfortunately G3 God Gold Guns will be closing its doors soon and trying something different. I've met a lot of wonderful people the last 3 years and thank you all for the support and friendships. Now I'm asking for your help in cleaning this store out lol. Everything is 40% off. By the way, I'm just closing the doors not going out of business so you will see G3 again, just not sure when. Love all and God bless. Now come buy everything you want that's left
