People driving well below posted speeds in the left lane are a HUGE problem in BCS. Everyday on my way south on Hwy 6 taking my daughter to school, there is at least 1 minivan going 60 in the left lane with 10-20 vehicles piled in behind them tailgating and trying to get around
People who excessively speed are a problem also.
It's not just slow and fast lane.
Yes we have people driving 60-65 in the left lane and yes it's a problem. However people driving 90+ in the left lane is a huge problem also.
I'll usually drive in left lane and keep it about 75-80.. I'll stay in the left lane unless nobody is in the right lane or I'm going same speed as right lane.
But if I'm in the left lane going 80 , no I'm not pulling to the right to allow the 90+ Mph driver by. Mainly because I'm still going faster than people in right lane and there are 20+ vehicles in front of me going 75-80.
So if you're in the 90+ crowd and weaving in and out of traffic.. you're the problem.
The less weaving in and out of traffic people do the less accidents.
Most if the accidents I see are just simply bad drivers , overly aggressive (the people who weave in and out of traffic at 90+ while nearly clipping every other vehicle) and people not paying attention … on the phone or something.
Yesterday while driving from peach creek to OSR and back I saw about a half dozen cars in ditch . It's pouring rain and people still driving 90 mph. Obviously they are idiots not knowing that the road has oil on it and when it gets wet it becomes slick, you can't drive same way on a wet road as you would on a dry road. And also have a much higher chance of hydroplane the faster you're going. Those dumbasses learned the hard way but at least they learned.
On Wellborn road in Millican yesterday evening during the rain a black Ford Mustang passed 4 vehicles at once in a no passing zone.
Again as others have pointed out , I honestly don't believe most drivers today know the traffic laws. I don't think they know who yields to who, I don't think they know what a solid yellow vs a dotted yellow line means.
It's unbelievable how bad drivers are
Sad how many innocent people die on roadways due to others irresponsible/ bad driving
I for one wish we had more CSPD and Bryan PD traffic patrol, more sheriff and constables patrolling rural roads and more Highway patrol on the highways.
Way way to many awfully bad drivers out there
The amount of fatal accidents proves that ..
