Definitely fighters but I'm too far south to see what they were. I was walking with the kids when the 2nd one took off and hooked up with the first heading East.

They looked like F14's to me as well, but I dismissed it. They had a swept wing look. Then I started thinking B-1's. They were bigger than F16 / F18's.

My wife's grandfather was a colonel in the Air Force. He had flown every plane in the USAF inventory by the time he retired. His favorite was the T-38.
I'm glad I found this thread. Growing up near Ellington Field down in Houston some of these pics bring up really cool memories of driving around the airfield seeing some really cool planes and jets. Love it!
Two fighters up. Looked like 22s, 35s, or 15s.
Practice runs for Saturday's flyover? They flew in formation over my house on the same path they always take for flyovers.
