I started a hunt semi-private hunt club just North of Dallas/Ft. Worth. We've been in business for 3 seasons now and put on what I happen to think is a pretty great hunt for an even better price, $235. Now being an Aggie is a bit of a tradition in my family and we happen to enjoy having ya'll up to talk "good bull". So we want to offer every Aggie a discount at $200.

We fished the Elk River near Fernie, BC in early August. Fished with a couple of guides with Dave Brown Outfitters; Two days with Jaimie Trento and one day with Derrik ?. Both good guides, excellent cutthroat fishing. Got to visit with Dave Brown quite a bit and was very impressed with his operation. It was our first time in Fernie, and we really enjoyed it. It reminded us of Durango, without all of the commercialism (Fernie is a big ski destination in the winter).

Chungo Creek Outfitters, Alberta Canada. I recently returned from my annual hunt and this time it was with Chungo Creek Outfitters for a Trophy Bighorn Ram and Bull Elk. My guide Corey Kristoff worked extremely hard and we were able to call in a 320 7/8 6X6 bull elk on the 3rd day to 208 yards. This is my best bull to date. We hunted 15 days before finding and stalking the Ram that I harvested. He was my first Rocky Mountain Bighorn and the hunt was grueling. It took every ounce of strength and persistence that I could muster. These guys also have excellent moose hunts and I've booked one for 2010.

Good Upland hunting. Pheasant, dove, geese, ducks, and quail.

My brother has been guiding hunts for a ranch in Mason on the summers, holidays, and weekends while he has been at Tarlton, and has decided to give school a break and try starting a guiding business of his own. He is based out of Mason, and will mainly guide predator hunts with the typical kills being bobcats, foxes, coyotes, and ringtails. Bruce is very good at what he does and has been predator hunting all over the hill country for years. He offers night hunts, day and night hunts, weekend hunts, and probably just about any hunt one would want at this stage in his business.

We've used them a couple of times in the past and have loved the spots we get taken to. The guide we use is Shane Smith. Great guy...very patient and even taught my buddy that had no experience at all how to fly fish. He is knowledgable about the areas and know what to use and where to go to put you on the fish.

Also, if you're heading that way I would suggest you stay in Frisco, CO. Great little town close enough to the big ski resorts and great fly fishing without having to pay the crazy prices.

My brother used to work for these folks, they are super cool people and have an awesome life story. They even have a tv show on the Sportsman's channel.

Yesterady I had the opportunity to quail hunt with Mike Schumann of Schumann Brothers Outdoors. I had a great time. Mike was very friendly, their farm was very nice, and the dogs were good. If you're in B/CS or the surrounding area and are looking for a quail hunt I would recommend them.
