What do you all suggest if I want to put something on a 22 inch barrell 7mm-08 rifle that I use for whitetail and hog shooting? It sounds like a 30 cal can works. But any suggestions on what type? Mainly out of a blind or truck so not talking about something super light weight for trekking.
since it's going on a bolt action you don't need all the new 3D printed goodness (and extra cost) of a low back pressure/flow through suppressor. 2) Since you aren't hiking with it, you also don't need to look for titanium or inconel, as the "ounces to pain" isn't a thing here. This will save you some $$ there as well. 3) you also don't need one "over engineered" to handle sustained fire like from a AR platform.
A good 30 caliber can from a reputable company will be good. Griffin GP7. Bannish 30.YHM Resonator. Omega 30. Otter Creek Polonium. Just to name a few.
But at 22" already you might want to look at a K version of a suppressor so you don't have a 10 foot pole sticking out of your blind!
I still wear ear protection when shooting suppressed (ok maybe not with 22lr or subsonic 300 blackout) but everything else is hearing "safer." As long as the suppressor is outside the blind you should be able to get a good shot off without hearing protection and your ears not ringing for 20 minutes.
