heading out Thursday. my game cams in Bracketville are showing next to no acitvity. Our lease has fallen off a cliff.

hoping the cold front gets the deer moving and I see something that hasnt been showing up.

man its been the last few years for sure. steadily in decline.

we used to look like a petting zoo when feeders would go off. 3-4 young 8s at every hunt.

now its rare I see an 8 point. and there are sits that I will see nothing. Something definitely happened but I dont know what.

Sounds exactly like us. I think it's our area, even though I'm up towards concan. Garner state park has had 2 worst deer counts last 2 year and presume this year will be another bad one. Happy to take this off line to discuss as I needed to vent quite a bit before meeting with biologist.

Truck thermometer hit 31* by Somerville this morning. Nothing but fox squerrils so far.

Slowest season yet across multiple properties. I'm starting to wonder if the extended doe seasons are hitting the overall population hard.

The majority of my bucks are still coming in at night. Very seldom do I have pictures of them in daylight. I am pretty sure that 3"+ of rain we had opening weekend and warmer than normal weather has yielded more forage than normal this time of year. Hoping it dropped to a frost this morning and activity is hot this weekend.
