Had 6 or 7 doe come in and one nice 8 so far this morning. If it was later in the season or I was in a two buck county I would be cleaning a deer right now.
So far I have only heard three faint shots this morning. Most opening mornings I hear 7 or 8.
ETA: My neighbor and I are hunting our two closest blinds to each other. He just got one about 600 yards north of me. I have now heard 6 shots this morning.

Lots of movement this morning. Seen 7 so far, including a nice young 9 that will be nice next year

I was going to say the same. I'm just a few miles south of Nixon.
Had a shooter 8 chasing earlier just out of range. Two more bucks entered the same spot we saw the shooter. Called an audible and set my son up on another fence line close. He's a much better deer than I expected to see chasing this early. Giv'em hell Poot.
Ended up seeing 2 little 4 points already starting to sniff and follow does. Saw a decent young 8 also. Good potential.
First time in 30 years - I am not in a stand this morning. A dermatologist appointment this week ended up being a bigger issue than anticipated. I have several stitches in my head so decided to lay low. My youngest is enjoying her morning with daddy!
Bandera co-About 20 does and 3 nice bucks at first light. Been watching OG for a few weeks now. He came out and now in the cooler. Hot and humid opening day with a little shower of rain. One of the bucks pushing does already.
Shot over the back of a somewhere between 12-14 pointer this morning. Thought he was 20 yards, wound up being closer to 15.

Saw a yearling spike and a 1.5 5 point. Couple hogs cruised by but I never had a shot. Couple coveys of quail, but no shotgun. And 1 rattle snake about 3 1/2 feet. No lack of variety this morning.
Took a shot on a wide 8 pt at 8:30ish.
He's hit but hadn't gone down by 9:15 but I glimpsed him in the woods. Hopefully he will be down soon and I can track him.

Youngest shot a hog last night. This morning nothing but does for two of us and a nice freak buck my BIL saw. Edwards County.

Lost the blood trail after an hour of tracking. Probably ended up being a muscle shot.
Eating tag soup today I guess.
Muggy this morning in Leon county. Had a decent buck out before shooting light but didn't stay long. After that, just a spike and a few does. Hunting with my son, hoping he can get another buck this season. Tough hunting so far with the amount of acorns on the ground.
Got this one in lampasas county this morning.
Oldest got his second just after sunrise. Perfect shot on a nice die.
Got back in stand around 3. Found an active scrape right behind my feeder. A new 10pt shooter has appeared on camera in the past week.
Saw a nice, young 8 chase around 430. Light rain just started to fall, setting up to be a great hunt as long as the big storms hold off.
