Didn't word that well. If you could buy a ranch (100 acres to 2000 let's say) in Texas, which county would you choose for best deer quality? I would assume somewhere in South Texas?

If it has to be in TX, it would be LaSalle or McMullen for me. But if I am buying land, for me, it would be in Wyoming.

You can build a quality deer population anywhere in Texas with good management and enough size. So if you could afford to buy any ranch in Texas then you have enough money to establish a deer program that will produce quality deer.

Now, if you want to have a turn key operation that you buy and has quality deer on it already, then your best bet is probably in the upper Rio Grande Valley.

Of all places you could be in Texas, you'd pick Dryden?! It's cool country and have spent lots of time in the area. I think my friends family ran out of wagon wheels and had to stop there.

I have a friend that was TBoone's wildlife biologist. He said that ranch is the best bobwhite quail habitat in North America. Amazing the money that he spent to improve the habitats on the ranch.

Well I live in of the most populated counties and want to live in one of the least populated. Plus I like the desert and mountains.

This is the reason I would want the place. The quail and the water. The kennels were nicer than my home.
