Three things round here you best be getting right with..

1. We recommend firearms that are 4x over a fellers budget.

2. We shoot hogs in the nuts.

3. And we shoot yotes if they look at us funny.

but we only do #2 and #3 after getting approval from Brad, mitch, and Terry.

You don't know sheep and goat ranchers too well do you.....

Some yes, some no.

Not much sense in killing highly mobile predators. You can't always be around and new predators will move in rapidly to unoccupied territory.

Maybe better to keep sheep/goats about to drop in a more protected area. That would require considerably more work however and isn't as entertaining as shooting things, even though it would be far more effective as well if the goal was to protect newborn stock. Lots of places are so rough and low density that gathering animals probably isn't worth the effort.

I'm not a big fan of killing things for pure entertainment. If it is for true depredation or loss prevention then sometimes to needs to be done.

coyotes are survivors and useful to nature, will exist just like cockroaches till they are alone.

I usually get them in range with a howler and a decoy, then pick them off with a .204, .223 or a 22-250.
