Guys - I know someone here can steer me in the right direction. I am interested in ways to make repairs to my ring. Quick background - upon graduation in 75 my father, who went to tu, became a season ticket holder to A&M, was a member of 12th Man Foundation, and loved everything about the University, wanted to do something nice for me and decided I needed a diamond, in place of the shield, on my ring. I didn't love the idea primarily because I loved the look of the worn down rings of older Aggies.
I loved my dad and all he had done for me, particularly around attending A&M. I didn't have the heart (or balls) to tell him no. So I have had a diamond in my ring for almost 50 years, until last month when I noticed it had fallen out (I was hiking, so was outdoors!). Now I just have a hole where the diamond was and want to have the shield restored. I understand that Balfour may be my only option but am wondering if this is something a skilled jeweler could handle.
Any thoughts?
