Pretty awesome place. 6 miles of public land river, stocked with trout. Some areas easily accessible and some you hike to reach. If you have hip waders you can access the whole river.

Good number of camping spots, too.

All the trout get stocked through the winter. They die off by May because of the water temps.

So all of the trout are hatchery raised and know food as trout chow. So powerbait works well. Fly fishing and lures have to rely on the fish's natural instinct and it can be later in the season before that kicks in more.

The water level also keeps them from spreading out too far, so they stock 30 different spots. If you hike a little you can get away from the pressure.

Where is blue located? Looks like a beautiful spot - assuming it has smallies or spots year round?

Near Tishomingo, OK. In the warmer months it has some nice Smallies and lots of trophy class Water Moccasins.
