Hey guys I've got a Cmmg banshee 300 45acp that I would like to mount a light to. Not much real estate so I think I'm going to have to mount the light on the top rail. Any recommendations for a low profile light that won't obstruct the view of my sight?

The side rail is Mlock. You can put a pic rail there and mount a Sure Fire scout light.

My hand take up the entire length of the handrail. Do you mean one of those mounts that raises the light up a bit or are you talking directly flush with the mlock? My issue is there is zero room for anything on the bottom or sides. I may sbr it and put a foregrip on it which will remedy that but it will be a while.

what about off setting 45 degrees right behind the sight? would it screw up the dot view?

the modlight pistol light will not obstruct your red dot view.

I run the Streamlight TLR RM1 with laser and couldn't be happier. Can mount them on top rail with no problem running Eotech XPS2 or Holosun 510C, so should be fine with your optic.
