Unless OP wants to prove us right, and in that case, do the original "dibs" count, or are we starting over?

OP is in good hands with us watching over his assets. He ded.

Nah, we are talking about new dude with the zombie arm. That is serious and has already started to turn necrotic. He is on the path of the stories of those who lose huge chunks of flesh or limbs to these damn spiders. Did you not see the pics he posted?

OP is fine. New guy showed up last night and it appears he did not go to the doc promptly like OP.

Ah...good catch. That's why I'm not a detective.

All the same, whoever belongs to that arm needs to get to the doc ASAP.

Hoping you are aggressively addressing your arm, and you're okay! All kidding aside this is serious and can be extremely dangerous. Brother in law almost lost his arm from a bite that got out of control. Was in the hospital for a week.

snoring.

I think I've been convinced to get checked out for a CPAP.

Do it. Recently had to go to a call of a 36yr old guy who died in his sleep, quite likely from sleep apnea. That stuff is no joke and will kill you. I don't go anywhere without mine.

CPAP saved my marriage. After years of one or the other of us hitting the couch in the night, she was like, get it fixed or I'm out of here. Fifteen years of marital bliss since then.

Not really the situation I was thinking that way. Dead 36yr old dude, wife in shock and trying to keep their 3 kids (one an infant) somewhat calm. Pretty ****ty deal.

He had a sleep study scheduled. Wife said hr was snoring so badly that night that she couldn't wake him and went to other room.

She'll have fun living with that.

OP.... go get that study done. When I did mine, my 02 was dipping into the 70s. That was an eye opener.

All in all, I think the OP has taken this a lot better than I would have had I found a platoon of Brown Recluse(s) in my bedroom....
But, there is a platoon of Brown Recluse spiders in your bedroom. You just haven't looked close enough.

NOPE...JUST a bit outside...of their range!!
Oh I'm sure those little suckers looked at that "general" boundary map and stay on their side.

I can attest they do not... cracked open an electrical panel in NC east of their range and found 19 of the *******s looking back at me. Had to install stuff in that panel after a good dose of Raid, but had me swatting at imaginary critters for a week.

WTF? Did they just throw this onto the list at the last minute?

No. Many tarantulas have urticating hairs, meaning they can cause itchiness and irritation, and they can kind of flick them as a defense mechanism. These hairs also have microscopic barbs to help them stick to things. It can be like getting covered in fiberglass.

Can confirm the above is damn good advice. I stepped on a huge tarantula barefoot as a kid by accident. After I had stopped running in panic it felt like I had stuck my foot in a boiling pit of nettles. It was so intense. Kept swiping at it with my hands and lo and behold, my hands got jacked up too. Didn't realize why until much later when I came across this info in a random book.

I'm not the OP but posted to him a while back with what I thought was my own bite to try and compare. Hope Richline is doing better than me.
My updates are below.
Time line
July 21 or 22 notice red spots on legs. Think nothing of it maybe just from mowing yard in shorts
July 22 or 23 notice what looks like pimple on right arm. Squeeze and nothing happens. Turns into bite pic.

July 24 go into doctor for bite. Do not mention red dots on legs, didn't think it was related. She prescribed antibiotic which also supposed to prevent staph infection.
July 25-28 red dots start to spread to forearms and elbow. Think maybe new work out mat maybe causing.

July 29-30 spreads to upper legs and more on forearms. Try Benadryl with no luck
July 31 lower legs red and blotchy now and spread up to thighs. Around ankles warm burning feeling. Try on antibiotic cream and neosporin on it. No luck
Aug 1 starts to move to waist and top of feet. Spots on arms getting bigger.

Aug 2 go to see doctor about rash. He has no clue. Takes a lot of blood for tests and schedules dermatologist appointment. I mention a couple of things maybe from tick or reaction to the bite but he doesn't think so. He thinks about a steroid shot but goes against it to see what tests and derma say.
My online research leads me to this page about this girls reaction to brown recluse bite.
http://www.highway60.com/mark/brs/casestudy_rashes.asp
Aug 4 pain shows up in right elbow and wrist. No idea where came from.

Aug 5 dermatologist appointment. He says what he thinks is happening but has no idea what would cause. Says I look health other than rash. Orders biopsy of spot. Wants to take blood but holds off since primary took some. He says to take rash cocktail of Benadryl, Zantac, alllegra and a Rx steroid cream.

Twig and berries have not been spared in this. Have a few small red dots on them now also.

No test results in yet. Conveniently I am going to San Diego Thursday for a friends bachelor party where I feel like I now have to tone down any drinking to not compromise my immune system. Also going deep sea fishing so we'll see how this all plays out.

MR Gadsden
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Holy **** Stout. That looks just like that girls rash symptoms in the link you posted. Have you talked them into a biopsy on the lesions like she had?

I'm doing good, no reaction at all. Just had a little itchy spot for a few day. Man, I'm praying you get yours figured out and a doctor tales it serious.
