I am going on vacation to crystal beach in early April and I have never been to the area. I am looking for a good seafood place to eat while there. Any fishing tips for the area are appreciated as well. I am taking a kayak.

Food is hit or miss but can be really good.

Agree with Stingaree. We also like Steve's Landing. In both cases try to get seated near the windows so you can watch the inter coastal traffic.

as a resident of Crystal Beach, Stingaree is thumbs down. Steves Landing is much better. Ocean Grill in the plaza is great and Joses Cantina and Cajun Steaks & Seafood is also top notch. North jetty is good fishing or just surf fishing most anywhere. For bait, Blue Water Bait Camp is about the best and can get fresh table shrimp right off the boat there too.

If you end up close to Port Bolivar there is a place called la playita that is pretty good. Worked near there for about a month and ate lunch at la playita every day. It's a mix of Mexican and seafood. Nothing to go out of your way for, but if you're in the area wade fishing it's worth a stop.

Take the ferry to Galveston, there's a McDonald's as soon as you hit Seawall.

Forgot Tiki bar & grill. Good burgers, steaks, shrimp, etc. Thurs nite is steak nite. $15.50 ribeye, baked potato, & salad bar.

Launch at Stingaree, go to the other side of the icw, go right. Be careful, boaters there dgaf about silly plastic boats.

Stingaree. Owner is an Ag. Depending how early in April you are there, Max Stalling will be playing Down Under (Stingaree) on April 6. Down Under has great soft shell crab tacos.

Steve's is really good. Had pepper crusted tuna there a while back that was good.

Ocean Grill is pretty good.

Tiki has good burgers.

Load up on supplies at the Big Store. They have everything you need, including many things you didn't know you needed.

Jose's is relatively new and puts stingaree to shame.
