Saw him live at the Hall and he sucked. I was way pumped but he was not interested in being there.
I've heard a lot of people say he puts on a good show so I planned on giving him another shot but I guess that's out the window.

He used to play the CCA Banquet in Austin every year. It was bizarre, because he would sit up on stage with his guitar and play. Literally, no one would listen to him or pay any attention.
Saw him about 10 years ago. It was a good show.

Saw him a couple years ago at Gruene Hall, he put on a decent show, but he looked rough. The years on the road had taken their tole. I personally while always liking Charle have always been a much bigger fan of his brother Bruce.

Saw him about a year back. Played for about 45 minutes and then got up. Everyone thought he was just taking a break. Nope, he was done. The "show" was him sitting and singing. George puts on more of a show just by standing. He really fell off the rails. Still hate to see something like that happen to anyone though (Randy Travis really comes to mind here).
Saw him about a year ago as well. He sat for the entire set, and mentioned that he had had some type of knee surgery.

He had some good songs but the times I saw him he got so drunk he couldn't stand up. Once he was playing laying down on his back since he was too wasted to even sit.
He's was one of the top dogs in the early 00's and then married one of the Dixie chicks and got all "Hollywood" and started to decline IMO.
Those first 3-4 albums were all gems though and are in steady rotation on my iPod.
Hopefully he will continue to write, be at peace and still be able to make a living.

He made a living being "wild". I never knew it would beat up your body up that bad.

I would have never guessed that was him in a hundred tries. I saw him back in his prime, it was a good show.
He had a good run. He's 54 for crying out loud. This is why all of the old people tell you to do what you need to do early on. Sucks, but that is how it goes for a lot of folks.

I have seen him multiple times and his shows are all over the map. One time he was incredible, the next time he was so hammered he couldn't sing. Had to take the liner notes out of the cd to read his lyrics. One time he just looked completely uninterested.
El Cerrito Place is still one of my favorite songs of all time.
Looks like he's led a hard life. That **** will catch up to ya!

I briefly met Charlie Robison back in the early '00s. To say the guy was a jerk would be doing all jerks in this world a disservice.
I've had the chance to meet several guys/acts like Aaron Watson, Cooder Graw, Dub Miller, Jason Boland, Kevin Fowler, and others during my time in school. They were all very pleasant individuals and treated me - a nobody - with respect.
Can't say that about Charlie.
