Thanks! Picture on the right was taken yesterday. I just realized that yesterday was exactly 10 months to the day from the picture on the left which inspired this whole thing. Also at the exact same fishing spot!

I've been at a plateau of 219-221 for the past month. But I'm definitely getting stronger. I wonder if it's my muscles are getting heavier at the same rate that I'm losing fat.

Have slowly added in SOME carbs in my diet. trying to make this more of a lifestyle change instead of a crash diet. Have only been losing 1-2 lbs per week lately.

OK, so turns out if you stop doing anything productive, you regress.

Was back up to 257.5 as of last week. Was on a business trip, managed to eat fairly well and worked out a few times.

I get home - wife declares we're starting Keto on Sunday. Apparently she'd been doing some research while I was gone after all the comments about folks on here doing it. Thus we are now on the bandwagon.

Four meals in, let's see how this goes...

I have been stuck at 228 for three weeks. To be fair to myself I did go to Cozumel last week and didn't gain anything.

Oh well back to work.

1-2 lb a week is a good rate.


I've been stuck in the 162 range for 2 months. Granted I'm around 10% body fat at that weight, which is in pro athlete territory.

Going to the beach will motivate you, but not in the way I had thought. I was out there kayak fishing this weekend. when I landed, the beach was much more crowded than when I launched. And heavy. Damn America, we need to do something about how we eat and live. Maybe 1 in 10 people over the age of 10 was at a healthy body weight on that beach, and a lot of the kids were way overweight too. It's a matter of health and quality of life. As someone who has been obese, and come back from it, I almost can't convey how much better life is after getting back to a healthy weight and fitness level. It affects almost every aspect of your life in positive ways. Keep at it, and you will start to experience it yourself.

Just back from a week at fish camp in Venice. Teddy's cooking has me looking at 199.3 this morning instead of the 197.5 I'd been looking at. Back to work.

Started a for real whole30 today. No more making it a week, finding some excuse to 'take the weekend off' and then never starting again. 30 days. Good food. Mild exercise. I'm losing this weight.

2 months with a hurt foot and poor eating/drinking has effed me pretty badly. Time to get back in gear.

I don't think I can do my old CG group with the foot. They workout in a parking lot and the impact is too much. There is another that meets in a park. The time isn't as good, but I think I'll try. If not, I will look at one of the OrangeTheory type places.
