They just dropped by the store. Being this close to ASC, I really would like to get some sporting clays guns in. These look pretty good. Their semi is a benelli clone and their O/Us feel pretty nice. Anyone shot or have one? Thoughts?

Not sure about the new ones, but I love the older over and unders. I would be very interested in an over and under if you stocked them.

My O/U is an Ithaca SKB. Hell of a good shotgun, my only complaint is the lack of interchangeable chokes. But those werent really a common thing back in the 70's and 80's.

Yepyep. Give me a holler and we can talk prices/availability (the availability is usually the hard part on some of the specific models).

SKB at one time made a fine shotgun, particularly at the price point. I have no idea what their new stuff is like but I'd certainly be interested in handling one.

Let me know if you want to. The guy that came in lives just down the road and was very cool with saying that we can get people out to the range to try them out.

I love my SKB "Hunting" over under. It isn't a new model so I can't speak to that. I really think the used SKBs from before they shut down operations in Japan are vastly underrated. Very well made, beautiful scroll work / engraving and affordable.

My SKB is similar to this one.

Agree with cslifer - I've had an o/u .20Ga for almost 20 years and it is a great gun.

It's my "go to" for hunting pheasants in the Panhandle.

The new SKB double barrel shotguns are made in Turkey by Akus. That is the same factory that produced the Smith&Wesson Elite Gold and the Kimber Valier, both now out of production but fine shotguns. They are really good shotguns. Current Akus production available in the US besides SKB are the D i c kinson shotguns sold by Cabela's but also available direct from D i c kinson on a custom order basis and becoming more available from other sources, and Webley & Scott at a higher price point.

I have one friend that custom ordered a D i c kinson semi-auto and he loves it, but IIRC they are made in a neighboring factory - same as the SKB semis. I'm not a semi-auto guy, so I can't comment much on them, except my friend likes it better than his CZ912 and it's right there with his Remingtons and Winchesters.

I have handled all three brands of doubles and the differences are mostly in configuration and cosmetics. They are really good shotguns and a heck of a deal for the price. When I was shopping for a new 20 gauge SxS, I came real close to buying an SKB 200, but "settled" for the slightly lower priced D i c kinson Estate from Cabela's only because I prefer double triggers in a SxS. I like it so much I bought a 28 gauge to go along with it.

I would never hesitate on a new SKB, or even the Webley & Scott offerings at a higher price point. They are all three essentially the same gun.

Edit for the ridiculous filter

I have an older over and under and I love it. No problems with it after several years of service. I also enjoy the English stock on it.
