We're watering the yard in CS right now. I've learned over the years to never trust summer rain forecasts. It's much less stressful this way.

Pretty good storms on the South Plains last night. I live in Southwest part of Lubbock - I had 1 1/2" of rain this morning. Heavy rain in our forecast for next 3-4 days.

Hoping we see some rain this weekend in the Junction area while we are there. Went from looking pretty good this spring to now being in the "extreme drought" area. Sucks to be thinking about hay in early August....

Just to clarify - this isn't a model. This is the 7 day precipitation amount forecast from the NWS Weather Prediction Center - after looking over US/Euro/etc weather models.

I hope the guys/gals at the Ft Worth Weather service didnt graduate A&M with a meteorology degree. Makes us look bad because they have zero clue what the hell is going on regrading rain. From soaking rains to nothing again. Getting old.

Glad someone else is tired of these forecasts of rain and getting jack ***** Today wasn't cool at all. Only hot and humid around Weatherford (where my job site was). This summer has definitely made me question if I want to continue doing field work.

ETA: My complaint worked. I got 1.39" last night in about 45 minutes in Denton. Not enough yet, but enough to help start closing the dessication cracks in the yard and maybe help pull the soil back to the house.

Yes, El Nio typically mean cooler wetter weather patterns for Texas

Same with Coryell. Not a drop at my house so far as of this morning. As I drove through Fort Hood into Killeen it was raining pretty good for a little while.

At my house we had a nice 6 inch rain event back in March.

We've gotten about 4 total inches from Jan-Feb. & April-August

It's freaking dry. Tired of eating dust.
