I wish nobody harm, but I wish we'd get rains to fill the San Angelo lakes, the Austin Lakes, and the Corpus lakes.

It is still early to have firm numbers, but according to our preliminary calculations:
Almost 8000 acre feet has flowed past the gaging station on the North Concho at Sterling City and it is still flowing around 1000 CFS. With that said, OC Fisher should gain 7000-9000 acre feet and rise about 7 feet in elevation.
The Colorado River at Silver has measured 4300 acre feet so far and the river has not yet crested. Based on that , we would assume that EV Spence should gain 800...0-10000 acre feet and rise about 3-4 feet in elevation.
These estimates are without additional rainfall/runoff. We will update you as more data becomes available.
quote:we are looking at 10-15 inches in the san Marcos to san Antonio area from the storm cell that's hitting plus Patricia over the weekend
I have literally heard the forecast for Patricia effects stretch from nothing to 10" and coastal flooding...
quote:every weather service is saying and predicting otherwise
I am skeptical. This thing will go RGV and then Houston.
austin will get the dry side
quote:Austin should get plenty of rain - the mid/upper level moisture from Patricia will feed into the state but the storm itself will not make it across Mexico as a tropical system - the mountains will tear the low level circulation apart. Even if it starts to spin up a coastal low off the TX coast we'll still see plenty of rain through Sunday across central TX.quote:quote:every weather service is saying and predicting otherwise

austin will get the dry side
The ensembles almost all have it right up Houston's backside...

quote:After the mountains tear this storm to pieces I don't know if it will have a "wet side" or "dry side" anymore. I think it'll be a solid wet mass of storms around a remnant low. We've been piling plenty of gulf moisture into Texas for about 4 days now with that strong south wind. The system will have plenty to play with!

quote:I think if you go back to May in this very thread, people in the Austin area were predicting the same thing. The next day, homes in the area were washed away.
I'm beginning to think that San Antonio and westward isn't going to get anything. Yesterday they were predicting 10 inches.
