It all depends but in Dallas the first 3-4 inches were sucked up by very dry ground, which was not the case back in the spring.

Love watching Jim Chicken Little Spence on KXAN in Austin.

He starts off the newscast saying the Hurricane in Mexico is the largest EVER on earth. Dipsheet. In recorded history. Not EVER.

Jim Spencer is the only reason I ever watch KXAN. Their weather team is awesome and usually the only one that's constantly on the air during bad weather.

I'm not sure we've even received hurricane rain yet, I think this is from the low in the Gulf by Brownsville. The real stuff is on the way.

Drove from Granbury to Fredericksburg this evening. Probably 2/3 of the way was clear and dry. Between Hico and Hamilton was some of the heaviest rain I've ever seen though. Overall more dry than I thought it would be.

I drove up from houston to Dallas today. I45 was backed up for hours at Corsicana, so we detoured at Fairfield. Went up 488, past Richland Chambers dam. Started to take 287 across the Reservoir, but turned around because of high water. Ended up taking 309 to 31 and then connecting back up to 45.

That was the heaviest rain I've ever driven through. Wild stuff!

The models over the past 7 days have varied radically every day from the National Weather Service.
While the cone is tightening this scenario hasn't been seen often enough to, IMO, be of much relevance.
I don't think anyone has enough information to be accurate at this point.

Luck favors the well prepared.

Looking at the radar that frontal boundary will kick our ass for round 1 then Patricia will come through and bat clean up. Should be an interesting day.

I'm working on 5" since around 2a at my house in north San Antonio. Still raining like crazy and the front hasn't passed yet. Bet we get close to 8 before all is said and done.

Will kick the coastal areas of Texas by the time they converge.

Great rain for Central Texas. Not too heavy so it can soak in.

Significant areas of Hamilton, Coryell, Bosque, Johnson, MxLennan, Hill, and Navarro counties have received over 10 inches of rainfall. Most of southeastern Hill and western Navarro counties have received over 15 inches already. Weather station near Malone registered over 16 inches early this morning.

Woke up with 2" in NB and already closing in on 3". Our neighborhood sits on the Guadalupe so we've been watching what is going upstream and it looks like they got hammered. Interesting day indeed.

3.5" here in Round Rock since 4:30 am. I only know that because I can't set my emergency weather alerts not to alert me when it's only a flash flood warning and not something more serious.

The news said it came up 6". Best hope is all the moisture overruns this front and triggers some more rains.

Almost 5" overnight just south of Waco. We missed the heavy rain yesterday (just north and west of us). The hope is that it keeps going since we are seeing little run off here.

Yup - if you buy the projected accumulated rainfall based on radar there were 20" rains in a few areas of Navarro county.

Isn't that like 1/2 of the great rainfall in Thrall?
