If you'd like to visualize how much rain we've received lately, here's some interesting data the Directors of the Brazos River Authority received from the staff today regarding mandated releases from certain BRA reservoirs.
From January 1st through June 2nd of this year:
Possum Kingdom Lake has released a little over 910,000 acre-feet water downstream
Lake Granbury has released a little over 1.25 million acre-feet of water, and
Lake Limestone has released just under 470,000 acre-feet of water.
For PK, this amount of water would fill the reservoir from empty to full almost two times.
The amount of water released from Lake Granbury during this period would fill that reservoir from empty to full over nine times.
At Lake Limestone, the water released during this period would fill Lake Limestone from empty to full over two times.

And every one of those areas have seen minimal flooding...
But you gotta keep it full so people can take a boat out and sell cheap water for lawns in Dallas.
But yes, unfortunately it has been biblical for several years.

They've released enough water to fill those reservoirs multiple times over... the heck are they supposed to do with it? Even if they weren't there that water would be coming downstream.
