I wear Oakleys with polarized interchangeable lenses. They're not really all that much cheaper, but you can spend less money on several sets of lenses for your particular application than having to buy an entirely new set of glasses. FWIW.

Maui Jims. I buy mine on Amazon. Much cheaper and usually free shipping.

The only two places you can eat wearing them in Port A is the drive thru at Whataburger and a booth in the corner at Fins.

Well to my recollection I've never been invited so I guess we're just staying the course now aren't we?

Get your opthamologist to prescribe you sunglasses and fill at an eyeglass shop so you can use your medical flex spend account. Worked for my Costas at the end of last plan year.

Bought my Costa's in the late 80's, and still going strong.

I use Costa for mirrors and Maui for amber, but I preserve both for their proper functions. I use the Megellan polarized glasses from Academy for my everyday usage. They are a very solid option for the "under $50" budget.

Bought my last set of Brine 580's off eBay for around $150. Like Barnaby said check out buyer feedback ratings and you'll be fine. Also, pay with PayPal and your purchase is 100% backed by eBay.

Costa warranty sucks....and I've had issues such as ear and nose pieces coming loose, lens delaminating / discoloration.

They are still a good value for the lower end lens and frames

Get an app that will follow steep and cheap on your phone. They throw up oakley, costa, smith and native all the time...

I've purchased 2 pair of CDM's and a pair of Native. I am tempted to get another pair of native when I see them (usually 30 bucks on s&c.) I like that you can switch the lenses out easily.

Any plastic lens will delaminate. Glass however will not.

It's worth the $$$ to go with glass, and to all the people that tout the weight as a contributing factor to not wanting glass lenses... I don't have anything to say other than get strong neck muscles. (and that's a joke)

I've gotten two pairs of 580G Blackfins and 1 pair of 580G MP2s off ebay all for less than 160. Have not had any problems with quality, shipping, etc. Coasta has had no problem working on both pairs of blackfins, and the MP2s haven't seen an actual fishing trip.

1.) Go to Academy and buy a pair of Costas
2.) Go home and buy the exact same pair off if EBay for $100 less (must be new condition)
3.) Put the EBay glasses in Acadmey box and return to Academy

Now you know you have real Costas for cheap.

While I don't condone what DRE said; I found it interesting this weekend while making some returns after cleaning out the garage; lowes and home depot won't take things back or exchange items older then 90 days IF YOU HAVE A RECIEPT. (this is for an unopened item they still sell)

However, go down the road 10 miles to the store in the next town down the road and tell them you don't have a reciept. Well by golly full cash return.

How stupid! Trying to be honest and make a return and they make me be dishonest just so I can return an unused unopened item.

Costa makes great product. Hawk steep and cheap and you'll find some discontinued models for cheap. Just can't be as picky.

"Cheaper" good option would be oakley. Their lenses have come a long way in the last few years. They aren't on the level as glass costas, but they are cheaper.

Mauis are my favorite and what I wear when I go offshore (Which does not happen enough). They are better lenses than costa, in my opinion.

In regards to sunglasses under a flex plan or HSA, even non prescription ones can be done if you know what you are doing. If anyone needs help with it, just pm me or get ahold of me on here. I have helped quite a few texagers with stuff and do tend to try to give a hookup price.

if the OP is sincere about just wanting to spend less money, i wear strike kings which are about 20-40 depending on which model and I find highly serviceable.

I wanted to bump this thread to give c-jags a big ol' thumbs up on the strike kings. I think they are the most comfortable pair of sunglasses I've ever owned (I've got a big ol' meathead) and they are very clear with no distortion I can notice. I have contacts that really require me to wear sunglasses, so this is a big deal. I also destroy sunglasses, so expensive ones are out. I think I'm going to go to academy and buy a handfull and leave them in my company car, truck, spouse's vehicle, etc. as spares.

The Sunclouds I wear pretty much everyday are comfortable and didn't break the bank. They work well on rivers and tanks, I don't fish the ocean.

Watch steap and cheap for NATIVE brand polarized sunglasses. I had a pair of costas and lost them while fishing in a deep lake. I bought Native sunglasses after doing research, and i have thoroughly enjoyed them. Only cost me $48 bucks to.

Strike King doesnt make bad sunglasses - just be prepared for the lenses to start flaking after a few months. but for $30 sunglasses, they are pretty servicable.

Columbia sunglasses are crap, IMO. i coulndnt have been more disappointed.
