Great pictures. Those are two fine trophies. I hunted with Kawdy Outfitters twice before and they are a class outfit.

Please don't sit on the animals. It is taken by nonhunters as a sign of disrespect and I know that you respect the animals you hunt.

Congratulations on a great hunt.

Thanks for all the comments!

Pricing can be obtained from Stan Lancaster at Kawdy Outfitters.

http://www.lancasterfamilyhunting.com/kawdy.html

Stan is conducting their last hunt, but should be out of the mountains in 3-4 weeks if you would like to contact him. For me, this was a once-in-a-lifetime trip as I am not fortunate enough to take these trips every year (or two years for that matter). I'm just your average guy that has saved up over the years to take this trip. I wanted to do this before my wife and I have kids since priorities will definitely be different once that happens. To many people, Africa is the ultimate hunting destination. Personally, I've never had an interest in African game. For some reason, Canada just does it for me and to be lucky enough to take the two animals that I went for was a dream come true. Feel free to shoot any other questions to me and I will be happy to answer them.

were those some kind hoof-cuffs for the horses that i saw?

Yes, they are horse hobbles. They keep the horses from traveling so far since they let them roam around for grazing. They also put cowbells around their necks so that you could always hear where they are at.

I always find in interesting that guides like these don't use mules for their pack animals.

how are you getting the racks and meat home?

Just showed this thread to my wife. On the last pic, she commented, "That's a big ass dog!"

The meat was left with the outfitters. We ate the caribou ribs for dinner one night and also had moose back strap and a roast. Typically, they use some of the meat in the camps for other hunts and then donate the rest to shelters and local organizations. The guy I hunted with ended up taking a bunch of my meat since his moose was stolen by the bears.

The capes and racks will be picked up, imported, and mounted by Brian Kadrmas at Dakota Taxidermy. He contracts out quite a few of the outfitters in that area and it just makes everything easier on the hunter.
