(not for sex)

i tilled my garden back in spring then never got around to planting. now the grass and weeds are 5 ft high. its too hot to get in there and clean it up, so i want to rent a goat to put in and let him clean it up

anyone live in houston area that has a goat you want to rent me for a week or so? my garden is fenced in so a small goat cant get out. i dont want to buy a goat because i dont have anywhere to put it after the garden is back in shape

so you guys with experiences with goats - if i do this you are telling me the goat is gonna eat up the fence, or it will find a way to get out?

as far as i know, goats will climb out of anything.

Goats will:

jump over
crawl under
squeeze through
lean against
stand on
and strech through...they have these Go-Go-Gadget necks that can reach at least a few feet if they can fit a head through an opening.

Some will even open latches. Best bet it to run a current through what you already have. Shock the little monster a few times and he'll steer clear....for a while anyway. And if you're dead set on a goat, get a Nubian and not one of those damndable Spanish goats.

Wow...this has potential. I bet the goat ges out with in a day...or gets laid with in 3 days...

If you do find a goat for rent, get a collar/halter for the goat and put him on a long chain attached to one of those anchors that screw in the ground then move it to different spots as needed. My mom did this all the time when she had several acres (using several goats) to keep maintained.

I'd suggest a fainting goat. Sell tickets to the neighborhood kids to come and scare them.

This breed also saves you the trouble of having to stick their back legs in your boots.

the best thing i could think of to keep a goat in would be to put a collar around its neck and then chain it to something that isn't going anywhere (ie is heavy or dug in good)

Rent a ho and go to town.

Keepsafe Diamond-mesh Fences are hard to beat. Holes are too small to get a head through and the mesh absorbs weight so they aren't going to push through it. Costs a hell of a lot though...

Boer goat or Boer cross, great cabrito.

Be sure that it is a female (nanny) or neutered male (whether).

Goats are a pain in the arse - sheep might be a better compromise

Dont you think it would be better or more advantageous to either hit it with a shredder or invest in some roundup?

Get yourself a couple of kids at an auction. Just put them out in the garden until they finish the job then BBQ them.
