Started playing the Witcher 3 for the first time. A few hours in and I'm pretty overwhelmed by all the systems. I feel like I'm playing the game pretty inefficiently, and while the game has MANY popup tutorials, I must not be picking up on in-game hints. It feels like the game is pretty much telling you to figure it out on your own.
For example, early game I went and met an herbalist who had a sick patient. I told the herbalist I could make a certain potion for the patient, but I couldn't find a drowner brain. I didn't even know what a drowner was; honestly thought it could have been a different kind of herb. First time I encountered a drowner was several more hours into the game, and I had failed the quest long before that.
For now, I'm just pouring through menus and reading in game stuff as much as possible, but I feel like I'm still missing things. I thought there would be more in game moments that introduced mechanics in an organic way, like Geralt finding a runestone and equipping it.
Any tips?
