Not sure about a reboot but I'd love to see the Legend of Heroes games (JRPGs) get put into SquareEnix's 2DHD style (licensed or w/e). I have loved the pixel remaster for FFIV but those classic FF games would have been amazing in that as well.

Are there any Final Fantasy games that are isometric, top down TBS category?

I've never played any FF game somehow.

Oh man, you shoulda been there in 1998 because there was this game called Final Fantasy Tactics that came out right after Final Fantasy VII which would've been right up your alley. What a time to be alive that was.

I was only 25 then and in year 1 of first marriage. I guess I was busy.

Play it now. Final Fantasy Tactics is amazing and it has a TON of replay value because of how customizable your party can be

Will check it out. Currently playing Shadowrunner: DragonFall which is apparently the gold standard of that franchise. Pretty good. A little hard though. I currently have myself in a corner and may have to start over the entire level.

Still a fantastic game. Excited to see what Triangle Strategy will be like. There is a free demo on the switch and they solicited a ton of feed back. They recently did a list of all the changes that they're implementing based on that feedback. It reminded me a LOT of Tactics.

There are some cool looking turn based rpgs out there on steam from smaller developers. Some of them apparently have pretty steep difficulty curves though.

Looks like there is a FFT clone on Steam called Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark for anyone interested. I actually already had it in my Wish List but didn't realize how close it was to FFT. It has good reviews.

LOVE that Final Fantasy Tactics still gets the respect that it deserves.

Up here at the Annex crunching for a midterm in 7 hours I am nowhere close to prepared for and have my phone music library on random and came across one of the FFT OST. What a wave of nostalgia and brought me here to mention it. A little late it seems.

FFT may in fact be my favorite game of all time. It's incredible in every way and has one of the two best stories I have ever played. (Xenogears being the other)

Would not mind a refresh of this masterpiece.

Titanfall....since we won't be getting a Titanfall 3.

I remember that scratch and sniff player's guide, too. I read that until the pages fell apart. Such a unique game, there's nothing like it and that's why I love it so much.

It's a turned-based RPG, but the characters, story, world is so quirky and strange but memorable.

-The main character can bop enemies with a baseball bat or a yo-yo.
-One of the side characters can shoot bottle rockets at enemies.
-Healing items range from cheeseburgers to cups of coffee to "peanut butter cheese bars" or a "brain food lunch"
-The main bad guy is a space-time traveling alien. You'll fight enemies ranging from zombies, walking mushrooms and cockroaches, robots, UFOs, aliens, to dinosaurs beneath the earth's surface.
-You befriend a dinosaur named "Tessie" and a man who transforms himself into a walking dungeon
-Oh three of the four playable characters can use psychic abilities to burn, bash, freeze, paralyze, or make your enemies cry.

I don't think I've even scratched the surface....seriously go play it!

If you do, also do yourself a favor and pick up a controller by 8bitdo. They do wireless controllers that have the look and feel of an SNES controller and are much superior to the wired controllers that come with the console.
