I will be taking a few days off from work for this release. I'm so stoke to see how they out-do Elden Ring.

I already have my recent character as Elden Lord and ready to go!

Who else is ready to blast! It's almost time! I think PC releases at 5:00PM, today.

I actually just completed another complete playthrough of Elden Ring, literally a few weeks after my last. I realized my PC actually runs it better than my PS5, so decided I wanted to play the DLC on PC, which meant starting a new character.

If anyone wants an OP build, double bonk with two Great Stars was ridiculous. One-shot Placidusaxx, Mohg, and Radagon/Elden Beast with it. Melania still took me 6 tries because of how fast she moves, and Maliketh was a 3 try boss. I was going to use summons when starting the playthrough, but decided not to on those bosses, and it was a cake walk.

BRING ON THE DLC!!!

Loaded up my save to make sure I have Mohg beat. Turns out I didn't, think my last playthrough was just a speed run to get the last ending trophy, so didn't even have a grace in the area. Was a nice little gameplay refresher, but ready now!

Have my primary stats soft capped and enough equip weight to wear nice armor. Sitting at Mohgs grace waiting for PS5 to unlock the DLC

Meeting expectations so far. Just killed the first big boss of the DLC. Definitely meeting that standard DLC difficulty level.

My only issue is dealing with all my screen flickering. I hook my laptop to my TV, and my screen just randomly flickers. When I started my playthrough it was perfect. Take a break to eat dinner and come back, my screen is flickering. No matter what framerate settings I toggle on or off, v-sync, refresh rates, G-Sync, it just doesn't matter. So incredibly frustrating.

The first optional boss in the Mausoleum near the start hits like a TRUCK! Even with soft cap vigor and pretty good armor, he almost 2 shots me. Took a few tries but got him down.

Yeah, and his poise is in the 90s,I believe. I had to pullout my trusty bloodhound fang to down him. Doing s no ash summon run off the dlc.

Yeah he took me several tries but I finally got him.

Also it feels so good to have no idea what I'm doing in this game again.

Made it through the bridge castle this morning. That boss was nasty. Pretty sure I was doing pretty much no damage to her except for bleed. Rivers of blood and tiche are carrying me lol

Looks like I will be jumping off the thread until I beat the DLC. I'm taking my time and exploring every nook and cranny of this DLC, clearing everything in a given revealed map area before moving on.

Anyone found a way to play this at 5760x1080 triple monitor?

Have to finish Haligtree, Mohg palace, and become Elden Lord on my 2nd character but enjoying that one better than my OG character anyways.

Haven't read through the thread, but what's the suggested level for the DLC? My main is like 220 something on NG++
Cromagnum

The suggested level is suppose to be 150, bit have heard stories of the DLC bosses wrecking people all the way up to the 300s.

The bosses are relentless; they make Orphan of Koss seem chill.

I'm just blown away by the scope of this thing. Every time I think I'm exploring something with a dead end, a whole new area opens up. I've only beaten a few bosses, but mostly just spent my time this weekend trying to see as much of the map as I can. I think I've visited about half, but who the **** knows?

From really outdid themselves on this one.

nice!

I think the issue is so many who have never played a souls game before. FromSoft has always made DLC a step up in difficulty.

What weapons are yall rocking? I'm absolutely in love with Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword. Throw in a few dragon incantations and I feel so damn powerful.

Mostly using the new twin light greatswords from the twin knight, but because I'm lame usually switch to rivers of blood for bosses because bleed is just so good and I can't win without usually lol

I brought my Intelligence caster into the DLC but after Rellana, I respec'ed into a Quality build with some Int/Faith so I could use her Twinblades.

Now, while those Twinblades are flashy and deal some serious damage, they really lack in the poise damage department. Because of that they've ended up being a little lackluster, so I started exploring other options.

Being RL 200+ with all these extra stats, this hybrid build has allowed me to try a lot of different DLC weapons. These weapons have all been useful:

Anvil Hammer
Fire Knight's Greatsword
Dragon Hunter's Great Katana (the item description isn't kidding when it said it's great against dragons, plus the weapon art makes it easy to hit enemies with weird hit boxes...or dragon heads...)
Death Knight Twinaxe has been fun, too. But the blink can be a bit of a spazz if the enemy moves a lot.

I need to give the Deflecting Hardtear a try soon. I just found out how that worked today.

I have several, and it just depends on the mechanics of the fight:
  • Hookclaws (Lightning AoW and Quality Attunement)/ Bloodhound Claws (Hoarfrost Stomp and Cold Attunement)
  • This is my primary boss setup, and the one I beat Melania and the lion mask, Twin Knight, and really any enemy that is susceptible to bleed with. I RH my hookclaws and buff with Bloodflame Blade prior to the fight. This allows me to build up bleed with both weapons, and buildup frostbite with my Bloodhound Claws. If I proc Frostbite before bloodflame runs out, the fire from Bloodflame Blade resets the Frostbite buildup. If not, Frostbite give me an additional 20% dmg. This build is very fast, very fun, and even jump dual attacks hit like a truck; especially with the the mask and talisman for boosted dmg with bleed, as well as the cursed sword insignia and cracked thorny tear boosting dmg. This build is all about being just as relentless as these bosses. If you are the type that likes ot hit once, then back away and circle a boss, then this build would suck. I literally run into the arena and I don't stop running at the boss unless I miss some dodges and need to heal. Even then, I usually stay close and dodge until I have an opening.
The lightning strike ash of war on my hookclaws is really what I use to knock down flying enemies. It works great for that, but I don't use it any other time because I'm usually buffing with Bloodflame blade for boss fights.
  • Bloodhound's Fang
  • Self explanatory. One of the best weapons in the game, and one I use when I fight a boss I need to do poise dmg to. This is the weapon I beat Maliketh with. This works against some enemies who aren't susceptible to bleed because it still hits like a truck.
  • Knight's Twinblade (Frost Spear and Cold Attunement)
  • This is my weapon for enemies that don't bleed, usually. I love the Twinblade moveset most, in this game. The frost dmg affects most bosses, as well as Frostbite. The big hit from Frostbite, followed by the 30 sec of 20% increased dmg makes this thing hit hard as hell. The Frost Spear ash of war, with Alexander's Jar shard hits like a freaking truck and also builds up frostbite. This weapon made the early knight in the DLC a freaking joke. This is also the weapon I used to defeat Radagon and Elden Beast.
  • Milady (Seppuku and Quality Attunement)
  • A new weapon in the DLC that I have been using for all trash because it is such a fun moveset. The dmg against bosses suffers, so I usually go back to one of the three above.

ETA: This current character I'm using for the DLC, I actually beat the game with power-stancing two Great Stars. That build is completely OP. If you are looking to play a bonk build, try power stancing the Great Stars. You can get two of them in your first playthrough, very easily and early, and they hit like trucks, do extreme poise dmg, build up bleed, and heal for 1% each, per attack. Honestly, I was laughing at all the bosses in my last playthrough, as I bonked the crap out of them without even using summons.

I respecced to my current build for the DLC because I love fast attacks.

I've only done about an hour, as I'm trying to finish up BG3 and the final battles first. Does the DLC seem worth the money so far? What's the size of it compared to the main game, maybe 1/3 of it or so? Just spit-balling.
Lathspell

Yes, it's extremely worth it. Very large area, Probably about 1/3, but I haven't done everything yet.

It is, however, very hard. There has been much *****ing, apparently.

Blasphemous blade is still the best weapon in the game by far. I want to use Euporia but it's one of the very last things you get.

When you realize Melina has to be Messmer's sister, and it is highly likely that he is the one who burned her body.

Granted the game doesn't come out and say this anywhere that I have seen. It makes total sense.
