If you can beat the sithlord, then keep going through the capital, much easier then parts of caelid imo.
What have ye done to surpass man?
Just depends on when you fight him, what build you are, etc.Cromagnum said:
I just one shotted Radahn without cheesing him. I thought this was suppose to be a major wall for folks?

I always thought the same about Margit. I one shotted him, and hadn't looked up anything online, so was amazed when he seemed to be the first wall people ran into.
I also fought Radahn much later in the game, so killed him in 3 tries. I have a hard time believing you one shotted Radahn, because just getting to him for the first time is a bit of a learning experience.

Anyone know how ****ing big the underground area is? I'm getting close to astel now but been to Deep root depths, and the two places where you light the pillars.
This game is massive!

I am doing a dex build this go around and was already gonna do a 2nd playthrough a different way.
Now I'm torn between doing an arcane class, a holy paladin type build, or channeling Guts and smashing **** with a giant 2H.

Went ahead and made a wretch and set them up for a Guts build. Snuck over to Caelid to get the guts sword off the wagon. I hit like a truck and don't even have good talismans on this dude yet.
On my original character, just completed the Lake of Rot and killed Astel. Eff that whole part of the game. Terrible design to have a disease that builds in like 3 seconds and wrecks you badly after. I was eating boluses like m&m's.
That incantation helps, and also keep a weapon with the bloodhound step ash of war on it. It makes getting through those sections much easierzip04 said:Cromagnum said:

I didn't learn until I completed lake of rot, but there is an incantation that removes it, which would make the area much easier.
I thought that area of the game would be my least favorite, but there's a couple more that were worse for me. I love the design of Astel. Great payoff for that crazy series of rabbit holes you climbed down into.Cromagnum said:

I think Valley of Defilement from Demon's Souls might still be my least favorite set of areas in any of these games. The first zone is full of precarious catwalks and enemies who really want to knock you off of them. The next zone is a huge poison swamp with an insane gauntlet to unlock a shortcut to the boss (only checkpoints were defeated boss rooms in that game). And the last area isn't so bad, but to explore it fully you have to traverse a no-run, no-roll, bloody swamp full of babies.

I don't even think Blighttown is the worst area of DS1 lol. Tomb of the Giants might be my least favorite area in the entire series. Still love me some DS1 though.texsn95 said:Ever suffered through Blighttown? /shudder/Halibut said:I thought that area of the game would be my least favorite, but there's a couple more that were worse for me. Congrats, now you've made it through maybe 5% of the game!stxag8 said:
Finally beat Godrick last night. LVL 45. Probably took 10-15 tries. I think my first shot I was around LVL 35 or so. Did a lot of exploring in between tries when I realized I just wasn't strong enough yet.
Absolutely. I think Blighttown's series of scaffolding and ledges is more readable than Valley of Defilement's, and VoD's poison swamp is way worse than Blighttown's. Mostly because the path through it is extremely long, and full of rough enemy encounters if you try to avoid getting poisoned. No checkpoints at all in the swamp, and you don't open the shortcut until you've made it all the way through it.texsn95 said:Ever suffered through Blighttown? /shudder/Halibut said:I thought that area of the game would be my least favorite, but there's a couple more that were worse for me.
