I tried the alpha mode yesterday and had a multiple kill game and top 10 finish. It did not record any of the points that I was supposed to receive. I checked online and sounds like that experience has been pretty common for console players. Not sure what Epic is doing to resolve the problem. I like the idea of earning pins as I am an unrepentant medal/award vvhore. However, I won't spent any time on it again until I know the problem is resolved.

In regards to Zips post, I come to defend my good name and declare that I was NOT the driver in question. I have been known to do lots of bone-head things with explosives but going Evel Knievel in an ATK is not part of my modus operandi.

Yeah saw that it's not just console player issue for the points. Nick eh 30 wasn't awarded 10 of his points and then couldn't even get into a match last night with the servers so overloaded.

So one of this weeks challenges is to ring 3 doorbells while opponents are inside the house.... That seems pretty difficult due to the fact you have to find yourself near the doorbell and know an opponent is inside that house. If I am in the back or side of the house, I doubt I will be running to the front just to ring a doorbell (unless it is in 50v50).

Oh and if the buildings at Tilted Towers have them then this should be pretty easy.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the taco shop and apartments have doorbells. Not sure about trump tower or the red brick one

I knocked it out pretty quick. Just drop in an area with a lot of houses and see when someone lands on the roof.

Play Disco. Pull your glider early and fly over towards a city on your opponents side. Wait and watch for an enemies approaching and for someone to land on a roof. Land by the front door. Ding-Dong.

Tonight is my first time to play disco, it is a lot of fun. I like it more than 50v50 for just messing around and getting into fights.

I stumbled on to this video by LuketheNotable:



Really entertaining to watch the other "100" drops in the series. Also neat to see him get better as the games went on. I watched some of his live youtube channel after work yesterday and he did a lot of commentary on his thought process through each engagement. Very educational.
On the flip side, I feel like I have hit a huge plateau with this game. I played 6-7 solo games last night, got into the top 5 3 times, and lost all of them. In all three losses, the winner had at least 9-10 kills and was able to out build everyone. I was able to get one of them down to around 15 health but was the closest I got. Then I watched him destroy a camper. I just don't have the time or gumption anymore to keep trying to improve at this.

I feel like there are a ton of people trying to go pro and make the skirmishes with how big the money is. It'd be nice to have skill based matchmaking.

EPIC just announced it will be enabling the "Glider Re-Deploy" for all game modes starting tomorrow. So long fall damage and hello 10 story tall 1x1 towers at end game. Now begins the decline of Fortnite as we know it.

Fortnite has already shifted way too far away from the meta that I got hooked on the game with. It's getting worse and worse. The building has gotten to an obnoxious level. It's not even enjoyable to get kills anymore because I'm so annoyed at the amount of building I have to do.

They have added zombies to all but Disco mode. Guessing it's just for this week. Probably why they gave every mode gliding.

Played 1 game and it's pretty fun. Also have a return of the crossbows and jack-o-launchers. The new revolver is pretty cool too.

Yeah, and the new zombies go along with new challenges for this week (seperate from the weekly challenges). Additionally, the zombies give you shield, guns, ammo, etc. when you kill them.

I highly doubt the umbrella deployment will stick past this testing period seeing the feedback already. It needs to stay in the soaring 50s LTM and that's it

Watching Sypher during lunch. Game was down to the final 2 when he noticed the zombies attacking the other guy. He had to fly over to finish the guy before the zombies did! WTF, now Zombies are third partying!?!

I think this will be a fun mode for the short term but it really should be more of an LTM while allowing regular solo play.
