19-1 in the go battle league. Tweaked my party a bit to Altaria, Azumarill, and Hitmontop. Azumarill is also a force to be reckoned with.

What ranking are you?

I think it goes from 1-10.

I'm rank 2 after only going 2-3 the first 5 matches. Hoping the lineup changes we discussed can improve the record some. I was using mons like Entei and Tangrowth before.

Started 0-2 but now I'm 8-2 thanks to switching my lineup too. I rotate between these 4 mons:

Azumarill - bubble / play rough
Hitmontop - rock smash / close counter
Altaria - dragon breath / dazzling gleam & sky attack
Charizard - fire spin / dragon breath & blast burn

The Charizard is great at burning shields (pun intended)

I'm rank 5, I'm 23-2 now. After winning 4 battles at rank 5, I got half of a bar for a rank up, so I think that going from 5-6 and so on might require more wins than the lower levels, but I'm not sure yet.

I'm on a streak fo 3 straight Mawiles on 10k eggs. It doesn't feel good when Deino, Gible, Golett, or
Ferroseed yet and 10k eggs a few and far between.

Maybe you can break that streak up with a Shinx!

My complaining worked. Hatched an Axew.

The broke*** mechanics of battling are maddening. I've lost three in a row thanks to charge attacks not kicking off. I've had a couple Pokemon fainting immediately after letting off a charge too. I had a raikou with plenty of health use thunderbolt and then get knocked out as soon the animation finished.


ETA had a mon with a charge move and a little health, brought it back to bring out later. Brought it back out and it never even made it to the screen for me to kick off the charge move. This whole thing is either broken or a terrible implementation.

Aaaaaaaaaaand again. Charge move not doing anything. They get theirs off first after mine sits there for a couple seconds, and I get screwed.

Yeah I'm not even trying it anymore. Too frustrating

It's truly terrible. They need a sync between switches. Whatever is on the field is allowed to do damage during the spawn animation while whatever is being called out is defenseless.

Worked much better today than yesterday.

Could've been 5-0 , but I left a guy out weak against a type instead of switching like I should've.

Several of the 4 wins got stomped. I even had one person rage quit.

My team is mantine leading off he's a good shield burner, hitmontop, and skarmory.

I'm trying to build up an azumarill but I need more candy.

5-0 this morning with Hitmonchan, Lucario, and Blastoise

Tried the premium league and went 5-0 w Altaria, Azumarill, and Hitmontop. Definitely better Pokmon there...lots of registeel and deoxys...neither of which I have

Hitmonchan w/ thunder punch and power up punch does some damage.

Still having mechanics problems. I got a power up punch off, but after it registered, the other guy switched and instead of a registeel I was hitting a togekiss. Kind of pissed me off because, for me, the switch was after I'd selected a charge, and the one I selected was now double resisted. Luckily I one shotted him with a thunder punch before he could get a charge attack off.

I have seen the sync issues work in my favor a few times though. I knocked a mon out with a body slam, and as soon as the next one came out I was one quick move away from a full charge on another body slam. Sucks for the other guy because it's hard to beat that. I would have lost that match if it wasn't for that.

It bothers me that there's no real skill in the battling. It's just math and good guessing in team selection along with getting lucky in the sync order.

I'm definitely on the short end of the sync issues. I've seen twice now where my opponent and I will have the same mons with the same moves, and he gets off two charge moves to my one.

I think it's been fun so far.

What sucks is some people are inevitably going to get tired of losing and we could only see 10 mons or less. No variety as time goes on.

And that's the problem. With the current setup, you really can't get better, and it's all about having the right "meta" Pokemon. After that it's luck with matchups and syncing. It partially comes down to who had the faster connection.

Just went 1-4 in my last batch of premium matches. Might give up on that.

2-1 in premium battles so far. My two wins were honestly from people using sub-par lineups. My once loss was a tie where both our mons fainted at the same time.

Added a new mon to my rotation: Umbreon with snarl and dark pulse. It's tanky and charges quickly.

I had a guy switch to azumaril to gain a type advantage over my hitmonchan. He didn't block the first attack thinking it was another power up punch. Imagine his surprise when he got hit with a super effective thunder punch.

Another odd mechanical error. I knocked out a guy's azumaril, then knocked out his registeel for the win. It seemed like the battle got stuck after I beat it, and he definitely had no Pokemon left because all of the pokeballs were dark, but then his azumaril came back from the grave with a sliver of hp.

Also, at one point, I lost a Pokemon, it asked me to switch, I did, and then after it was summoned the switch menu came back up it of nowhere and was blocking the charge attack.


ETA Also just got screwed by the charge attack thing again. Guy with a deoxys hit me with psycho boost and then immediately hit me with it again. Immediately as in, after the block animation cleared it gave me another incoming attack notification and asked if I asked to use a shield. It cost me both of my shields and that was the difference. This needs to be fixed.

Better than you think. If your odds are millions to one, but millions of battles are going on at any one time, it's probably happening quite often by virtue of the law of large numbers.

Better than you think. If your odds are millions to one, but millions of battles are going on at any one time, it's probably happening quite often by virtue of the law of large numbers.

Moral of the story :


If you lose a battle in a convincing way, wait 30 seconds to 1 minute before you queue up again. The guy who beat you will likely either be already fighting again or done with his 5 battles.

Can be. Could be that they have a charge they're saving for a type advantage. Once you're out of shields, they have a glass cannon they can throw out. Let's say they hit you with a charge, switch, and then hit you with another. They can knock your mon out before it can get off a charge attack or do any real damage at all.

Happened to me earlier this evening. Lost both times as well.

Went 4/5. Got a scra ggy as my Pokemon encounter.

I'm getting destroyed today. It sucks that if you have a type advantage on the first mon and make that person switch then you have a 90% shot of winning
