JCM and Harvey are lasting late in drafts...like 8th or 9th round

both seem like great value picks -- players to rotate at flex even RB2 (when Dobbins gets hurt)

Harvey scored 12 TD's last year

regarding D/ST...the Jaguars will probably be ranked the #1 D/ST for week 1 (since the Rams and Texans play much stronger opponents)

Steelers vs Falcons is also a good match up. Watson strip sack fumble is probably -500 odds.

I'd actually prefer the rookie Coleman in Denver over Harvey should anything happen to Dobbins. Peyton apparently loves the dude and he's the bigger back of the 2. Either way it's still just a flyer pick.

here's the order, pretty shocked Chase/JSN made to end of 1st in PPR but this is a $300 buy in league with seemingly some unique strategies, the TE-TE was baffling but McBride was flipped for JJ post draft so dunno if there was some weird coordination there

ended up rookies/Buckeyes heavy but I was goin for ceiling throughout

This draft doesnt look like a 6pt passing td draft. Burrow is a major steal. Though I think Dak might be more value but still. QBs should have gone way higher. Hurts should be drafted way later.

Dobbins will be better than Harvey. Im guessing the knee issue scared people away from Chase?

That is a good squad! You have 3 2nd round guys there with Love, Nico and Barkley.

I've got an 8 team draft coming up this weekend.

Never having done an 8 team league is there any different strategy than a 10 or 12 team?

Assuming not and the only difference is just stacked teams and higher weekly point totals.

Since everyone is generally loaded at WR and RB, sometimes it is nice to get a positional edge at QB and/or TE in the shallower leagues.

Is it a standard roster ppr?

Try to get people to expand roster size to increase trading. 20 roster for 8 teams is 160 players. Which is still kind of small for compared to 12 team 15 roster size which is 180 players. So the WW will be stacked. Id expect a BTJ, Addision level guys to be on the WW.

But in 8 man standard roster if you draft 5th pick or later Josh Allen - top RB then Loveland then another rb then WRs (trybto get the Moore stack). Stacking is probably way more important in 8 team.

If you miss out on Loveland wait until near the end to take a couple of TEs. Likely, Fanin, Kinkaid, Terrance Ferguson.

Also I wouldnt be afraid to draft Burrow or Dak more aggressively. Either one could be good trade bait especially if the owner has a stack. Im bearish that Maye, Daniels, Hurts perform as people want.

several of the fantasy pundits think folks are sleeping on Tampa Bay's offense...Baker, Bucky, et al...

the Bucs' o-line is healthy, and it's supposed to be a top 5 unit

Tampa's schedule appears very friendly defense-wise...Falcons, Panthers, Saints, Lions, Cowboys, Bears, Bengals, Browns

(until week 17 vs. the Rams)

Um well it looks like you didnt draft anyone in the first round. Also Barkley and Smith is generally a bad combination.

I'm not one to bag someone team but if I'm honest, a D was generous.

Who were your 1-3 picks and where were you picking? Saquon is typically around the 1-2 turn but Smith and Javonte are both mid-late 3rds. I like having 2 of Waddle, Watson and JaMo but the combination of those 3 with Smith as your WR1 feels potentially like a low floor-mid ceiling room.

Full up on mid grade players. Deshaun would be a downgrade plus I got Goff to Jameson

sympathizing...

Yahoo hates my draft when Goff is the QB1

he's finished in the top 10 the last 3 seasons

obviously have to be careful starting him in outdoor games...of which the Lions only have a handful this season

I have had 3 drafts. 1 was a keeper so it is hard to rate. (3rd one posted)

First auction draft. I didnt do well. I dont know why I got Lloyd and Brooks.
Qb: Shough
RBs: Hampton, Lloyd, JCM, Brooks, handcuff rb
WRs: Chase, Olave, Garrett Wilson, Luther Burden, wicks, pat Bryant, Chris Bell, zavion Thomas (will drop and replace if burden and odunze are healthy)
Te: Terrance ferguson
K: pending
Def: Jags and Chargers (18 man roster can leave defense stream options bleak).

Texags draft: start 3 wr and 2 flex.
1. Goff and Baker
RB: Achane, chase Brown, Breece, Lloyd, JCM, Malik Davis
Wrs: Christian Watson, Parker Washington, Alec Pierce, Stribling, pat Bryant, adonai Mitchell, Tyson (IR)
Te: Loveland, Terrance ferguson
K: pending
Def: steelers

3. Keeper (Bucky, Michael Wilson, Jaylen waddle). 5pt passing td.
Qb: baker, dak
Rbs: Ken Walker and Derrick Henry (not big on either but knew rbs would be gone by my next pick in round 4). Bucky, dowdle, jcm, and Malik Davis
Wrs: waddle, Jameson Williams, stribling, wicks, lane, Wilson
Te: Isaiah likely, Terrance Ferguson
K: rams kicker
Def: Jaguars.

So if these players hit: JCM, Terrance Ferguson, stribling, Lloyd, Baker id be in a really solid spot in my leagues.

A 12 team league has never been a favorite, I always have an issue in staying focused on getting a balanced team, especially in this .5 PPR league I'm in.. i tend to get too many upper tier RBs and not enough WRs, or vise versa. Waiting on a QB too long because of panic from others, etc. How do you guys manage the 12 team drafts? I'm 8th pick so I think I'm in a good spot to get a good mix this year.

I think you will most likely get Cook / JT plus JJ or Anotnio Brown. Personally if Hampton or Chase brown fell to me at round 2 id take them.

I think there are enough wr options in 5-7 plus high upside guys you dont need to worry about being no WR in rounds 1-4. Which allows you to take TE in 3 (loveland) and get maybe 3 rbs in rounds 1, 2 and 4. Now if you do get a top WR in round 2, i think you keep the option of going RB with 5 if tuten or price are there.

The big reason I like going RB + RB is I think the wr hit rate for round 5-7 WRs is way better than RBs you can get in that same group. Parker washington, Marvin Harrison, Christian watson, Jameson williamson, Alex Pierce. All could be top guys. And you get 3 bites at the apple for 2 guys you need to start.

Note if this is a 3 WR start league strategy can shift.

8th pick in a 12-team means...

picks #8, #17, #32, #41, #56, and #65 to begin...

starting RB / RB means your WR1 & WR2 would be from the Higgins, Waddle, Tet, McConkey, Egbuka group

starting WR / WR means hoping Javonte is there at #32 -- if he is great. If not...have to go WR again or reach for Etienne, Swift, Skattebo. One of those three should be available at #41

#56 would be best available WR or RB

#65 is where I would look for Kraft or LaPorta at TE -- if both are gone...would go best WR/RB again

I drafted 8th in a 12 team half ppr and you can definitely find value. At 8 you're in ARSB/James Cook territory. Then round 2 you could follow with a guy like Hampton, Brown, Henry, or Walker.

Round 3-4 you've got quality receivers like Olave, Tet, Zay Flowers, Tee Higgins, Ladd, Wilson and a few high upside rb2s ljke Etienne and Swift.

The RB drop off after round 4 is steep so that is something to keep in mind. You can build a really solid 2Rb and 2 WR starting roster through those rounds.

I also personally try to not draft a QB or TE until after round 6 unless and elite target drops. I took Warren round 6 which was 1.5 rounds after his projected draft spot.
