What is his history? He got fined $11K earlier this year for throwing a punch when he stood up in a mass of Bears players. I'm not aware of any others other than that stupid clip that's floating around twitter where 2-3 of the players don't look that bad.

My original reaction live was "he's ejected and getting suspended". It looked vicious. Slo mo it's looked really bad except…watch when sunshine starts to slide and when Al Shaair starts to launch. It's just about simultaneous. And at real speed with real reaction time? He's got no chance to pull out. His only option was to not make any attempt at a tackle.
I guess you can argue he should be doing nothing and standing there ready to see what Sunshine does. But if that's Mahomes, well he ain't sliding and now the defender is standing there holding his jock strap while the QB keeps running.
It's a bad looking hit. It's a bad hit. But it's also bad timing and in real time and speed it's just about impossible to avoid. It was simultaneous.
I get the ejection and a suspension. And he should have had his ass headed to the bench and locker room immediately. That crap probably got him an extra game alone.
But Runyon is the last person to be laying blame and saying it's not the way the game is played. Hell the guy who committed the illegal and injury laden tackle on Mixon with the hip drop didn't get suspended. And that's a tackle everyone says is made to injure and it didn't get a suspension. And Mixon missed home many games?

Eliminate the slide and the going out of bounds for the QB's since many are taking advantage of the roughing the QB rules. Once the QB breaks the line of scrimmage, he is ruled down once a defender TAGS him. This eliminates poor decisions on both sides of the ball.

If all you did was listen to angry people, you'd think Sunshine got decapitated from this hit. It was a hit on a sliding qb and should be penalized as such, but he doesn't hit him high or low or with his head. It's a forearm shiver to his chest. If it weren't for all the histrionics, this would have been a penalty and that's all.

The turning of his head and the side of his helmet hitting the ground is a killer.
Both of my kids have played sports forever and had multiple injuries throughout. You know, typical things that come with the territory.
But my least fav one by far was a very bad concussion my daughter received. She was playing soccer with her club team in Dallas the week of Thanksgiving. Of course the weather was pretty cold and bad. She's a holding mid, and on punts from the goalie always trying to win the ball for her team. The team we were playing was a dirty team. In fact one of the parents was kicked out for encouraging dirty play through out.
On a long punt my daughter went up in the air to win it. While in the air she was pushed in the back and this caused her head to turn. The ball struck her temple.
She was out for a very long time. I witnessed several concussion tests and learned a lot about them. She could not even go to school for a week and bright lights or loud sounds could even make her sick to her stomach. . When she did, she required sunglasses in class. The doctor wrote up an extremely long letter to the school nurse explaining how she might require test retakes, etc.
My main point, getting hit in the side was the key that made it a top level concussion.
That and the back of the head can be the worst places to be hit. Thats why I was not a fan of the targeting foul being removed on the hit in the Aggie game.

Just pointing out, it was a forearm right into Lawrence's mouth.
I agree with Brady in the video above. There needs to be ramifications for late/fake slides also. Or take sliding back out if the game. It puts any runner at significantly more risk of injury anyway. Play football. If you're going to run, get ready to be hit.

But he smacked a qb in the chest and I've seen more hate for him than the person who murdered the united healthcare CEO. It's really wild.

My brother in Christ, watch the video below that shows the slo-mo from behind Lawrence's right shoulder. You can see clear as day he takes the forearm right into the mouth. He was KO'd before his head hit the ground.
FWIW I watch enough NFL to know who Stroud is. I have no idea who the Texans defender is but I think the punishment is way too harsh.
