Pretty clear no one else valued Levis that high. We made the same read everyone else did

I'm starting to think some of you guys would complain if the Texans drafted Jerry Rice and Lawrence Taylor.
I'm not sold on Stroud, but I think he has just as much of a chance to be the best QB in this class than any other player. But now you're just cherry picking from your list. You can give me hypothetical examples and I can reply in kind with counter points that are all hypothetical on why he hit 5 of the 6 things you listed. I can also counter point the LSU example since they lost a ton of talent and coaches. But it's your opinion, so I don't need to change your mind.Scotty Appleton said:
When you play on a team with more talent than all but 2 other college programs and can sleepwalk through 90% of your games, no you don't meet the standard.
Hell, even Burrow had a down LSU program for one year and then they immediately fell back when he left.
Ohio St's record would have been identical with McCord at QB.
About the same for me, I think he has a higher upside than Young and is the best pure passer in the draft. I actually feel more comfortable taking him than Young.LB12Diamond said:
Just curious
If that test score was not known. What would be your thoughts on Stroud.
Still iffy on him even without the test score. Dude is certainly capable of some great games but to me never seemed more than adequate. IMO Anderson was the no brainer at 2. QB could have been had without giving up the farm. I still say Hooker will be every bit as good as Stroud will. Except now I hope I'm wrongLB12Diamond said:

I'm really hoping we can get Jonathon Mingo in the 3rd are jump up into the 2nd if another run starts. I think he's one of the steals in this draft.Ags #1 said:
Our wr core is gotta be bottom 3
At least tanking won't be an option for them this season.thann07 said:
Just saw a tweet that the #1 traded for 2024 is the Texans own pick (not the Browns).
So, start winning guys.
Depends on the next run, but Marvin Mims, Cedric Tillman (another steal), Mingo, Xavier Hutchinson, and maybe Kayshon Boutte (crazy to think how much he's fallen) could be available in that 3rd to 4th round range. But some may slide up depending on a run.mAgnoliAg said:

Yup, I would be happy if we could snap Tillman or Mingo, but Boutte or Hutchinson in the 4th would be good too.mAgnoliAg said:IrishAg said:Depends on the next run, but Marvin Mims, Cedric Tillman (another steal), Mingo, Xavier Hutchinson, and maybe Kayshon Boutte (crazy to think how much he's fallen) could be available in that 3rd to 4th round range. Ah forgot about Boutte. Talent is there. And yes I love mingo.
You think people didn't notice his drama/disappearing act with swamp kitty?Ag_07 said:
Why has Boutte fallen? Any particular reason?

Bama has 3 NFL HOF QB's. Ohio St has Mike Tomczak & Brian Hoyer as their best ever. Tech is a poor comparison as they aren't a historically "stacked" program. Still, Mahomes is a great example of the type of college player that does well in the NFL.
By and large QB's from stacked programs wash out in the NFL. They aren't challenged much in college & most were challenged even less in high school. When they suddenly can't out talent opponents and their team can't just show up and win 90% of their games on Sundays. It is too much of a shock for them.
If you want a good NFL QB go draft a guy that has the arm talent, played on a team that took some lumps, led some upsets or played better teams tough, played 25+ games, took some beatings and made his team better.
