I'm commissioner and our championship matchup needed 109 points from burrow and diggs so I'm just asking loser if he's good with conceding it. 3rd place matchup was done as well.

what about a split proportional to the projected win % prior to the game or at the time of cancellation? ie if one team had a 75% projected win rate the loser would get a 25% split, so still accounts for compensating the slight chance the underdogs had of winning the matchup

Think that would be a reasonable compromise vs a straight split (less fair to favorite) or straight projected points (less fair to underdog)

I don't like this idea because what if one team was already done and the other still had 3-4 people left? The percentages would be different if they had an equal number of people playing in last nights game.

Projected win % just accounts for likelihood each team has of winning at the time taking into consideration which players have already played and projections from those still to play
Not perfect but its similar to taking a live cash out

If the game isn't being played, the Chiefs clinch the 1 seed I believe. They may sit their starters next week. Are the Bills locked into the 2 and Bengals the 3? Bengals vs Ravens no longer for the division. Lots of interesting circumstances

When the game was stopped last night I was ahead with a 93% chance of winning (I know projections aren't very reliable) but I had Burrow and my opponent had Diggs. Only 1 week all season did Diggs outscore Burrow. I'm not going to be a Richard about it and will accept whatever decision my commissioner makes but my opponent should concede. His only chance of winning was Burrow getting knocked out of the game, likely in the first half.

I have Tee Higgins and I was up 12.96 vs Burrow heading into last night.

Half PPR and 6 point passing TD.

I was projected to win by .2

No idea what we'll do but I offered to split the pot.

We have a trophy. I've been the overwhelmingly top team in the league for the whole season but I'm guessing he'll want us both on it. 11-3 with 150 more PF then everyone else.

Also playing against the commissioner so he's going to be benefiting from whatever is decided.

The league title, which I'm fighting for, hangs in the balance in my money league. I was down by 3-1/2 points coming into the game. I've got Burrow and Singletary, he's got Mixon and Chase. When the game was suspended, I was up by 2-1/2 points. I really hope they make the game up in a couple of weeks, because I don't want to lose or win on someone having to make a judgement call.

I still think there's a good chance the game will be resumed.

especially if the Chiefs win on Saturday and the Ravens win on Sunday

I had Burrow and Chase going in the championship in one league last night. I trailed by 17 points. After the Burrow TD, I was down 10. I was projected to win fairly easily. We still have not decided the outcome. We may just wait.

In my other league, one of the teams had Burrow and Higgins going last night. As of now, they have decided to spilt the pot.

I had the best scoring team this year by 500, and had burrow/diggs down 12 going into the game vs chase. Was already up, and now they took the points away from me showing me losing by 12. Ugh

Both Championship contestants in my league opted for a Week 18 sudden death playoff.

IF they make up this game in a couple of weeks (unlikely), I'll retroactively add in the points from Bengals and Bills into Week 17 and do a combined 17 and 18 championship.

I was in the championship game and was ahead 31 points in a 1 PPR league. All my players had finished, and my opponent only had Burrow left.

I offered to split the winner's pot 85/15 based off my win probability at the time of Hamlin's injury, which he has declined.

Looks like we're waiting to see what ESPN Fantasy suggests as mentioned in their recent message

Burrow's been over 31 3 times in the past 7 weeks, can you blame him for declining?

FYI, below is a link to a status update just posted by Yahoo Fantasy for those that use Yahoo as their FFL provider. Let's continue to pray for this young man's recovery and exhibit a little patience as the league decides how to move forward.

Whatchu talkin bout, Willis? PPR means nothing to you if he has Burrow. Not saying he can't score 31, but the PPR is irrelevant. Now, if you're in a league that awards points for completions, you all deserve to lose. You should split the money between everyone on this thread.

Of course, none of this matters, I'm also in a championship game with a big lead against one Bills player and one Bengal. I couldn't possibly care less right now if I win.

What an asinine offfer.

Glad he rejected it, I would have as well.

Projected points and "win probability" mean nothing in Fantasy.

Yahoo just told me I won my 3rd place matchup. Luckily for the two vying for 1st and 2nd in the 'ship, it was already determined without Bills and Bengals players and 3rd place is no money in this league (3rd gets their buy-in back in my other league). ...but I was for sure going to lose. I was up around 20 and done, and my opponent had Burrow, Diggs (ppr), and Bass.

So you low balled him and you should have offered him 22.2222222222% of the pot.

Yahoo may have an insider with the league

however treating the Bills & Bengals players as if they all got injured in the 1st quarter...seems like the right move (for now)

we should know by Sunday night what the NFL is going to do about the game

Understandably so. Do you routinely go around and smack your friends in their faces?

I see people piling on, but I don't really see the issue with the offer.

1. If you let the scenario play out on its own, the game is probably canceled and the opponent loses and gets nothing, so 15% is better than nothing
2. Even if the game ends up getting played, Joe burrow has only broken 31 points in my league in 3 out of 15 games (20%), and he only had 3 quarters and a bit remaining to do so in this one, so 15% seems reasonable. Maybe I would have been gracious and gone 80/20 just because it sounds better, but I don't think 85/15 is unreasonable.

I'm 100% on board with yahoo/espn decision to let the scores play out how they play out. I don't care if you were almost guaranteed to win or almost guaranteed to lose.

This is fantasy football. I've won games because a guy who averages 15 scored 40+. I've won because a guy who only needed 3 points had their 16+ RB get injured on the first play. I've lost due to a guy fumbling then getting injured. I've lost because my qb lost 0.1 taking a knee. I've won because of random **** and lost because of random ***** Losing because this game may be canceled sucks, but just like everything else here it is an unpredictable event which happened.

Edit: I'll add that this could have happened at any time in any game. Don't change the rules because it's championship week and you might lose.

In the league I commission the championship contestants agreed to just play a week 18 one off for it all. Week 17 was too close to call either way and they both said on their own they'd be fine with a week 18 one off. Granted, they have teams that are not near as affected by players sitting as some others, so that is definitely a benefit.

if its a close matchup then the week 18 faceoff is def an interesting proposal, week 18 is a different beast in lineup analysis with pt evaluations etc and brings a new aspect of fantasy 'skill' into play, like penalty kicks or shoot-out

I disagree. This may be true if both players had access to more players, but week 18 already has a ton of players resting that no manager would have had reason to plan for.

So in our league one team was behind his opponent by 0.86 points with Allen, Mckenzie, Mixon, and McPherson still to go, while the leader had all players done. OUCH! Thems the breaks I guess.
