I read a rumor somewhere today the opening game might be in Jacksonville. If true, I guess the NFL is doing the jaguars a favor so they will not have to tarp most of the seats, for at least one week. Also heard giants on thanksgiving

That account that 'leaked' that has been debunked and the guy admitted he made it up.

Well they are indeed playing NYG on turkey day. Tough games to open against Tampa and Cincy but both at home.

Yeah, the 1st vs. 2nd place schedule sets Philly up pretty well to make up ground against Dallas. It used to be 2 out of 16 games. Now it's 3 out of 17. Tampa, Rams, and Cincy for Dallas compared to the Eagles who get Saints with Jameis, Steelers with Trubisky, and the Cardinals. Now the league changes year-to-year, but at a minimum, at least 2 of those 3 should remain quite a delta in quality and a chance for Philly to make up a game or two.

If Dallas doesn't start strong, that mid October game on Philly looms large because their early schedule is easy. Can't dig a big hole

4 of 6 first games vs playoff teams from last year then gets easier. Tied with Washington for easiest schedule based on win % from last year.

Yeah, basically the whole NFC East has an easy schedule partly because it sucked balls last year

Get out of the first month 2-2 and we're good.

In the video opening, from the silhouette, I would've bet $100 that was Rowdy.

Any of the other schedule releases close to that funny?

Chargers' video had a couple of moments (vs jaguars and vs falcons)

Did any of you fellas realize Sam Williams was this friggin big!? As quick as he is, I just assumed he was a more streamlined DE. Guy is thick!

I am excited about that pick. Guy has a motor every time I saw him play in college he was flat out getting after it.

Double edge sword... I wish we had more Cowboys stuff to talk about.

On the other hand, if this thread blows up at this time of year it's usually nothing good!

I know. It's "wait and see" season.

I have noticed that all of the national NFL outlets I listen to pretty much universally think the Cowboys are going to backslide next season. I don't think I've heard a single positive opinion. Vegas has the Cowboys as the favorite to win the East and everyone I've heard is dying to pick someone else. Mostly the Eagles with the additions they made. I guess I get it.

On the surface you see the loss of 2 out of the top 3 WRs (especially Cooper), loss of Gregory, and loss of two starting OL.

But I thought the Cowboys were smart with the guys they let loose (for a change). They clearly wanted to get bigger and stronger, which they did in the draft. The OL and DL they added look like studs to me. The question is how early in the season will they be good, especially on the OL. I also think it's obvious they've added bigger WRs. Maybe one reason Zeke never gets long runs anymore is because our WRs were tiny and couldn't block? It will be interesting to see where Gregory's career goes from here. I think we dodged a bullet not signing him.

I think the one thing people overlook with the Cowboys is how much young talent they have. Meaning, we have a lot of guys that are still getting better and our team will improve as a byproduct.

Parsons, Lamb, & Diggs immediately come to mind. Throw names like Osa and Gallimore at the DT spot and I don't think it's a stretch at all to think our Defense can be better next year.

Fair to say our offense might be less talented overall, but if Dak is healthy (he wasn't last year) and Kellen spends the off-season getting his head out of his ass there is no reason to think this O can't be somewhere in the top 10 range (good enough if our defense is strong).

Agree with this and I think the OL will be a better unit w/ a bit of luck on Tyron's health.

I'm cautiously optimistic the OL play will improve. Tyler B may never be a great player, but he is a young and improving player (and I hear he will be pushed by other young/hungry guys).

It's easy to assume Steele is a downgrade from Collins in name recognition. But if you recall, La'el didn't immediately get his job back last year and our o-line play got worse down the stretch (after Collins returned). Not sure what his deal was last year, but Steele can absolutely out-play the 2021 version of La'el Collins.

The left side will once again be the big ? How many games can we get from Tyron and will our 1st round pick be able to move people and help our running game (and for the love not get 1-2 holding calls every game!).

interesting tweet.

Still think Zeke has plenty left in the tank. So far, the reporters are saying the cowboys look like they are going to use more 2 RB sets with Zeke and Pollard on the field together. Not sure why it too an entire offseason to figure this out, but it's good to hear.

They shouldn't be conflated, but 6th year featured RB's who got a ton of miles in CFB and in the NFL get hurt. That's the issue. About 2400 carries in 8 years. Lotta mileage

Yeah it's easy to forget how good Zeke looked early in the season... he put in a TON of work last offseason and it showed. Also didn't help that the O-line really started falling apart around November.

But it still doesn't excuse the stubborn offensive staff that kept sending Zeke out time after time when it was obvious he wasn't right and Pollard was clearly the better option. Zeke needed less reps... but "he's a warrior" so back in he went.

As I said above, this team can improve over last year in multiple ways, but a lot is going to depend on the guys calling plays. Full confidence in Quinn & his staff. Big Mike and Kellen Moore... they've been 50/50. But when our offensive staff is clicking they are really good.

I know right? He wants "long term security". What does 10m get you these days? Just don't spend it all on hookers and blow and you'll be fine.

Yeah, it basically is a multi-year deal in my book because the tag is about 3X what he's worth. Think of it as a 3 year deal that you are gonna get all at once, you flippin spare

Schultz is good at finding space but also has benefited from having a blanket of really good receivers around him. He's not a Kittle, Kelce, Waller. Guys who are playmakers on their own. He needs to be careful. This is a contract year for him for another team and he's giving up practice reps to McKeon, who has shown flashes of ability, and an eager rookie in Ferguson.

I agree. I'll be pissed if the Cowboys give him a big deal. He hasn't shown anything exceptional in my view.

Right, he's good at finding space because there has been a helluva lot of it. Nothing special about this dude. He got tagged more out of desperation due to circumstances than talent, and now it seems to have gone to his head
