Should have been Johnson or Dean. This is a trash pick for any team, you don't draft non QBs in the first round who have to redshirt and be tonight how to play their position.

I'm thinking they wanted to trade back and take Smith (reports of Stephen on the phone before they were on the clock). When they couldn't find a dance partner, they panicked and juat stuck with the pick. Smith may develop into something good, but taking him in the 1st round is a BIG reach. You had immediate impact players at LB, Edge and C and you could have probably gotten Smith or someone comparable in the 2nd.
