Just trying to motivate Toro. Not much else to get him excited

Howell looked like a poor man's Baker Mayfield tonight.

Sports Illustrated predicts the Texans to go 1-16.

Says their worst-case scenario for 2021 is Tyrod Taylor playing well and the team accidentally winning a few games and falling back in the draft.

What a time to be alive!

You guys were all jumping the gun....Texans officially named Tyrod Taylor the starter today.

Culley was playing some 4D chess keeping all our rivals guessing until now...

we'll know soon if 2-15 or 1-16 is on the table.

the most winnable games:

week 1 vs. Jax at home
week 3 vs. Carolina at home

weeks 4 thru 11 are brutal

week 12 vs. the Jets at home
week 15 at Jax

if the Texans start 0-3...then 1-16 is a strong possibility

I heard Wheezy McCain on the radio the other day say that if they lose week 1 everyone on the staff should be fired.

We could only hope.

Turned on Fox1 this afternoon and they were talking about what the Texans were asking for in Watson trade value

Don't know how legitimate this is, but they said 3 ones and 2 twos

Wow!

That sounds right for a franchise qb which is what he can be under the right team. That pre allegations?

For sure, he is 25 years old, the asking price is right, and I would argue more. Certainly, his issues going on right now makes that more difficult, but once that is resolved, the Texans should get something close to that ask. The Texans would do right for themselves to wait it out as long they can.

He will be 26 next week. There is a possibility that he won't play a game again until he is a week shy of 28 or later….it is 2021 after all.

His style of play isn't conducive to playing into his late 30's. He hasn't learned when to get rid of the ball instead of taking a sack,
Or trying to do to much and getting sacked.

All things that will be considered when people offer to trade.

Maybe…honestly it is on him at this point to decide if he wants to play next season or not, unless criminal charges are brought. As far as his play, he is considered a too 5-10 QB in the NFL, someone will trade for him, and will have to give up a lot, given his age.

I don't think he plays next year due to suspension. If he actually has criminal charges brought he might never play again

The Texans are unstoppable now they have signed Danny Amendola.

Danny Amendola is what Randall Cobb should have been, at the contract terms he should have had too.

Yeah...I'll take that bet.

That's a good deal. Frees up cap space with something in return. Defense will suck anyway.

Now, what is that "something"?
redag06
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Correct, I don't think he will play next year at all due to suspension. Had he done this 5 years ago, different story, but that was before #metoo, etc.
Don't forget this could end up being more than just the civil cases, there is talk of criminal charges at the local and FED level. If the feds actually bring a case, he never plays again in the nfl.

True

I just don't think this drags on that long.
redag06

The civil cases don't go to court until Feb 22, he is going to sit on the texans roster/inactive list all of this season and the suspension will come next year.
JCA1

No way those cases go to trial next February. 2023 is more likely. And Buzbee could probably drag it out several years more if he wanted to. And the longer it hangs out there, the more desperate Watson will become to get rid of them (I.e., the more valuable they are).

Roby sucked and he was there best corner....lol, my guess is tonsil and Cunningham go before sunday.

What's the cap hit? You're talking two of our highest cap players which, I didn't think, had minimal dead cap money.

Per @TexanCap...

Caserio has made 176 transaction from Feb 5 2021 to date.

Wow.

thats only 187 days. that seems like a lot of transactions. anyone know how many other teams have done in that time? I guess each transaction could be as simple as picking a guy up or letting them go from the practice squad, which obviously doesnt take much thought, but that many things seems like doing something just to do something. im not sure how you analyze enough information to feel like you are getting the good end of all those deals.
Ag_07

He's not trying to get the good end of all of them.

That's all just a result of undoing what BoB did.

BoB ruined this franchise football wise (Cal handled the off field ruining). He's breaking it down completely to build back up.
Fat Bib Fortuna

My brother and I often tell the joke that as Tom Brady got older, he never realized that Wes Welker and Danny Amendola were two different people and would just "throw it to the little white guy" when the Patirots needed a first down.

And what's even crazier is I can't name one guy he brought in that I expect to be a contributor 2 years from now. Maybe he's just biding his time for now (and that's the right thing to do) but it just feels like shuffling deck chairs.

i get that, but you dont want to cut off your nose to spite your face. surely he isnt taking Ls on these deals just to get rid of BoBs screw ups, right? id think that that would lead to more issues down the road. how many of next years draft picks have already been traded away before caserio? was it really so bad that it is worth gettind rid of folks no matter the cost to the franchise? I guess if the players are complete trash it is basically impossible to be on the winning end of a deal.

Either way, i dont envy the dude at all. a terrible team that was ruined by his predecessor, only star player being a complete sleeze bag and the owner and his personal preacher are still sitting there and i assume easterby would return to his snake ways if he feels wronged at any point.

I'm by no means a capologist but the cap situation the Texans were in was awful. I think they had the less cap space in the entire league but the worst roster.

So yeah being on the losing end of a deal is sometimes worth it if it means his salary goes away.
