Source said the Randall Cobb trade is contingent on whether #Packers can renegotiate his salary. The $8.25M he is guaranteed is a problem for GB's cap and Cobb has to make a decision on how much he's willing to take and how it will be structured. It is not done yet.

It was an odd statement.

They stated it was an ongoing investigation but also they have yet to receive information from HPD.

So...What exactly have they been reviewing? Just don't see how it's been this long and they've got nothing.

I mean, the court of public opinion doesn't seem to be too upset about it. I still think he ends up being suspended for most if not all of this year while the suits get settled and he's back on the field week 1 of 2022. Who knows for what team.

He hasn't played since this all came out, right? May be wrong there. I don't think it would take much to get the twottersphere up in arms, and apparently that drives pretty much every business and political decision these days.

But you bring up an interesting point that was definitely discussed when this broke. Who wins in the victim struggle, black man or various women. The whole thing is just unbelievably crazy.

Certainly they have done their digging and have a reason for what they said. Every statement they make has been vetted by who knows how many lawyers.

Yeah I am not sure it matters if he plays or not, he will end up being traded and wherever he traded that city will embrace him and that will be the end of it, that is unless he is in prison, which seems unlikely at this point.

I still have a hard time believing the NFL doesn't suspend him for at least 8 games, but the coverage of the situation has been pretty damn bizarre.

Unless a team is willing to give full value for him now, the Texans need to wait until the suspension and settlements are done. Seems pretty likely that his career will not be affected outside this coming season.

I agree, he will be suspended, the question is when? Time will tell, when he gets traded, but it will happen.

Isn't that crazy to you though? How many players have been ousted from the league for off field issues? Obviously Aaron hernandez was released before he was arrested and didn't have a chance to make a team again obviously. Was Ray Rice allowed back in? There was terrible video there so currently that is different because it's all allegations only. Watson has 10 women filing with had and 20? With rusty. Vick was allowed back in. I cant recall who else has had off field issues that were national news.

Ray Rice was only suspended like 2 games until the video came out. After that, he was released and pretty much untouchable, even after the NFL reinstated him.

Roger that. Didn't Mixon just miss a year of college and get drafted? Haven't there been several sexual assaults by NFL folks? What happened with them? None were serial offenders that I remember hearing about.

Yep, at this point it will be about what the Texans get in return, given history, they will get screwed, but I will Ceserio the benefit of the doubt if/when he screws this trade of Watson up.

He's a young, elite QB. It's as simple as that, I think. Roethlisberger had his issue, albeit before metoo. Elite QBs are just basically irreplaceable. If this was tyrod Taylor, he'd be out of the league.

My only thought is that maybe Caserio and co. consulted with Deshaun and said it would be better for him to be out there practicing and working with teammates to try and get a trade done faster.
