Pretty lame of him to report after what his side put out there all off-season. I don't care what circumstances are involved.
Pretty pathetic of the league and team to allow him to report

I understand what you mean but the Texans don't want him on the commissioner's list. The ability to fine him is about the only bargaining chip they have left.Sea Speed said:rbcs_2 said:

Agreed. Would be curious if there's something in the contract that allows Texans to recoup money if he is found in violation of NFL rules/values. I know the contract is voided, but would be great to get the money back. Not my money, so don't really care.Ag_07 said:
Texans shouldn't come down on their ask at all.
Worse case scenario he's suspended without pay or expect with pay which they'd have been paying him anyway.
Hold on to him until everything is settled one way or the other and get full value for him.

MIA seems the only one that could meet the Texans demands and have been one of the few in contact with the team throughout this whole situation since it's started

Mia has been in contact the most throughout and seems the most interested.
Philly has put out feelers but that's about it
Would Tua be involved in this Mia deal?bilbobag said:

This. Especially if he plays, the team will be better and the pick will be lower. I don't see them making a trade until next offseason. But, maybe the value of having him be someone else's problem is better than the return of picks we may get now.W said:
so the Texans would trade Watson without knowing exactly what draft picks would be coming back.
top 5 pick, top 10 pick, middle of the 1st, etc..,

I agree with your logic, but he played last year with a slightly better roster and they still only won 4 games. This year will be a disaster I'm sure. I'd be more worried that he would get hurt and hurt his trade value.Quote:

I think ultimately he ends up not playing but on the Texans roster or commissioner's exempt list. My expectation is he'll be traded just before the draft next year, when hopefully there is more clarity in his legal process (court date set for Feb 2022 I think). I would think Nick would like to know exactly which pick he's getting instead of "a first round pick".Noble07 said:I agree with your logic, but he played last year with a slightly better roster and they still only won 4 games. Hearing Rodgers coming back to GB hinging on trading for former teammate Randall Cobb . If Cobb is in Green Bay it looks like Rodgers will be too

I can't imagine anyone giving up anywhere near that much considering the uncertainty he's currently under. I don't think he (or anyone) could command that even if he never had his legal issues.LincolnBorglum79 said:
The Texans are willing to trade him now for the equivalent of 5 first round picks. Miami could offer WR Waddle (6th pick this yr) plus 4 first round picks (3 Mia, 1 SF) over the next 3 drafts. This is enough for the Texans to say they got full value and Miami becomes an instant contender for several years if they keep him out of trouble.
Unless there is a trade of similar value, I think the Texans will hang onto him until the trade deadline if some contender loses their qb or until next off season. This would happen sooner if the cases get settled.
Watson wants and needs to play. He will waive his no trade if needed.

The draft capital involved in the Anthony Miller trade:

* Chicago trades Anthony Miller and a 2022 7th round pick
* Houston trades a 2022 5th round pick

Ten women have now filed complaints with Houston police about Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, according to Watson's attorney, Rusty Hardin.
Hardin spoke with ESPN Monday about the progress of both the criminal and civil cases involving his client.
"There are ten women that have made complaints to the [Houston] police," Hardin said.
Eight of the women, according to Hardin, are among the 22 women who have alleged in civil lawsuits that Watson sexually assaulted them or engaged in sexually inappropriate behavior during massage sessions.
Two of the women who have filed complaints with Houston police, Hardin said, have not filed civil lawsuits against Watson.
"There are a couple of women who we don't know anything about," Hardin said.
Quote:
If Watson were to reach a settlement with any or all of the women who are suing him, Hardin reiterated his desire to make any settlement public and said Watson would not sign any settlement that includes a confidentiality agreement.
"I do not want anybody to be saying that this guy paid off women to stay quiet and so, if there ever was a settlement of any kind, it would have to be public and therefore both sides, [Watson] and the women, would be able to say to the world at large whatever they wanted."
Quote:
"Teams are ready to jump now if the Texans would trade with them, even while all this is pending," Hardin said. "There's no question that teams, numerous teams, are still interested. The ball is in the Texans' court."

Only the Texans could sabotage a chance 99.9% chance for the 2022 No. 1 draft pick. Play Watson and go 5-12 or 6-11.
