He is done with the Pats. There has to be a clause in his contract that will allow them to void it. I agree that he is innocent until proven guilty on murder charges but he certainly is going to be convicted of obstructing justice. He is going to spend some time in the hole. Does it end his career? Maybe not. The NFL is pretty forgiving when it comes to talented players and the guy is talented.

Now if convicted of murder which the evidence is pointing strongly in that direction he is done.

Interesting. Welker was on Dan Patrick yesterday and at the end Dan asked him what kind of guy Hernandez was and if they were friends. Welker just said no comment.

If his cellphone was on, the phone company has a log of his whereabouts that night, or at least a log of where the cellphone was.

I suppose his defense attorney can argue that the real murderer stole his phone before killing the guy.

Has anyone reported on what kind of phone? Im under the impression if its a burner it cant be tracked. Only the text messages and phone calls can be recalled. Now if its a smart phone his location can be traced to 3 meters and hes toast.

There is video of him with the victim 2 hours before the murder on his neighborhood's surveillance system.

Which begs the question why would a millionare that is not supposedly involved in anything shady need a burner phone.

The chances of it being a burner phone are very very unlikely. It if he does have one, like you said, it makes him look even more guilty imo.

Smart move.

My cousin's son was attending a private Catholic school. Was a good kid. His senior year he wanted to attend the local public school. She relented. Bad move. He got involved with some thug friends. One night they went and shot some dude. Now her son is in prison for attempted murder. Even though he was the driver and not the trigger man, he was there. To make matters worse, he refused to plea bargain and got more time than the others involved.

That makes me want to vommit.

I don't think they get cap relief in either situation for future salary. But they don't pay him when suspended.

So if he's suspended for a year, his 2013 salary would not count, but if they cut him the escalator would. Anyone know for sure?

There has got to be a situation where the team gets some sort of relief from the cap hit if a player is convicted of murder. 1/16th of the salary cap as dead space? Craziness.

It was one of the dangers of drafting him. One of the reasons he dropped to the 4th round were reports of gang ties.

I won't feel sorry for the Pats if they get burned by the deal.

Failed multiple drug tests at Florida and of course he's got the body ink to have been a 'banger. Won't have much room for any prison tats

They are taking their time with him that is for sure. Frankly if the guy is as guilty as he looks now might be a good time to make a run for it.

Is it possible they don't have anything on him? Seems like if they had anything substantial then they would've made a move on him.

Not saying I think that's the case but after multiple searches and no arrest it just makes you start to think.

They pulled out several bags of evidence from the house.

There are police divers in a lake near his house right now.

There are reports that other cameras in the neighborhood show him returning to his house with two other friends shortly after the gunshots were heard.

If they did get the felony warrant for his arrest, they could have had his passport pulled so he couldn't easily flee overseas.
