Up until not long ago, some of you said Trump was a top 3 all-time president. Some even said number 1.

Do you still hold that opinion?

Who said it? Other than Trump himself, no one else did.

Voted for him twice.

But, no. Not top 3. And not number 1.

Appreciate some things he's done.

But I'm getting Trump fatigue.

There was absolutely an older thread for this. I just can't find it. (Not the newer one where Trump declared himself the best. Which btw…. Psycho!)

While this didn't say Trump was #1, it's a similar sentiment.

https://texags.com/forums/16/topics/3635695

I voted for Trump all 3 times and I voted straight ticket R this past election. The blind MAGA populism was (and still remains) very strong. The above thread and its stars show that the populist, cult of personality viewpoint is still very prominent.

To add, I agree with a lot of the thread and appreciate Trump's combative nature. He was the president we needed at the time. However, his time has come and it's time for him to ride into the sunset. He's not going to do that though.

No where close to top 3, but probably one of the more impactful ones of my lifetime. Those are two different things.

Up until Iran and the economic ramifications on inflation, he was an ace. Iran was a bad, bad miscalculation. It will forever tarnish his record.

By the summer of 2028 most republicans will act like they've never heard of Trump. Oh that guy? Never liked him that much anyway

For politicians, it's the only way forward. For everyone else, we've got the receipts.

Still the best president since Reagan.

At least when it comes to doing things for the common people.

His miscalculation about Iran was a fatal misstep.
It takes a special kind of brainwashed useful idiot to politically defend government fraud, waste, and abuse.

I am already seeing that. This board is an amazing study in that really. Six months ago this board would tar and feather you for not being completely aligned with him. Now people are slowly backing off. I assume that it will end up being like after hated leaders are out of power, suddenly nobody will claim that they supported them.

Haven't obviously been completely happy with the current President but compared with what the democrats shoved in front of us you would have to be insane to choose that!

Not only that. Every shenanigan he did was cute and funny. Cause after all, he's just "TROLLING THE LIBS". watching their heads explode.

Every insulting tweet.
Every time he referred to other countries as " **** holes".
Every cringe worthy mention of another man's body part on stages in front of crowds and kids.
MAGA celebrated him acting like a petulant child for trades of unaccomplished polices and cheap thrills.

Every revealing of his undignified qualities from the highest position in the land. They clapped and jeered.

It was all fun and games for years!!!! UNITIL IT WASNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Define what you believe a "die hard MAGA" person is? And may I ask if you think American is at its greatest now? And if not, what is wrong about saying Make America Great Agsin?

Trumps record/ranking will be written in later years…it will be interesting to track his economic record, investment in the US, and see if that has an impact in the growth of manufacturing. From a geopolitical perspective, we will need to see the impact of what he has done in South America and Iran and what transpires in the future.

I wasn't someone that said he is the best or top 3 Presidents of all time, but I do think he has done some things that will be interesting to follow and what ultimately will mean for the US.

In his first term, he was the best President since Reagan.

I his present term, still Better than Bush. Economically still better than marxist obama..
But his economy hasn't changed much since Biden.
And that's just downright embarrassing.

Best president ever
https://texags.com/forums/16/topics/3170633

https://texags.com/forums/16/topics/3278667/4#discussion
"My name is judge" has Trump at number 1
"Annie88" has him in top 3

And as of yesterday Flown-the-Coop calls Trump the greatest POTUS
https://texags.com/forums/16/topics/3609284/479#discussion
" Whether they hate everything about America or just its greatest POTUS, it does not change that they hate the Country.

So other people have said Trump is the greatest president of the US or at the least top 3

There are people here that believe if you don't like Trump then you hate America.

That kind of false delimma was part of what destroys dems and republicans.

"If you don't agree with Obama you are a racist",

if you don't get the covid shot you want grandma to die,

if you don't support liberal fiscal policy you aren't a conservative

Absolutely Trump will be regarded as an excellent president. Just because you think blue and pink haired cat ladies named Karen have all the answers doesn't mean normal people think that way.

The fight with Iran is the war we should have fought. And it has been Trumps downfall due to Americas recently acquired weak stomach. The turncoat bushies and chenies took away America's stomach to fight in the fabricated Iraq war. If you think that is Trumps fault you are not thinking it through.

Trump is already considered one of the top three worst presidents in history. Do you think his legacy will get better over time? He will be remembered as a narcissistic crook who made billions while the American people suffered.

Not MAGA, never been MAGA, and have been accused of having TDS hundreds if not thousands of time on this forum. Heck, I got banned for being critical and mocking MAGA and to this day am prohibited from using a specific word on this forum.

Didn't vote for Trump in 2016 because if he needed my vote to win Texas, he had no chance nationally. Held my nose in 2020 and 2024 (did not vote for him in the primary) because the alternatives were far worse.

Trump has done some good things; but the mistakes, the inability to STFU when needed, and the almost endless, unforced errors have severely damaged any chance for a good legacy.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

What evidence do you have that the Iran war was any less fabricated (besides "Trump said so")?

Even if Iraq were a mistake, it's a war we fought for ourselves. Iran is a war we're fighting for someone else. What ever happened to America first?

The disaster of Tuesday lays at the feet of Thune and others on the Senate more than on Trump.

Whilst these lame duck years remain important, his legacy was settled in the first two years with the decisive action in Iran and VZ, closing of the border, mass deportations, military investments, economic investments, throwing a huge spike strip out on the Dems push for socialism and turning the country over to immigrants.

Those things are written and will reap rewards years. But these past elections are a reflection of how regarded the masses are AND perhaps most importantly the absolutely failure of the Senate to do anything past the OBBB.

Trump is the GOAT of the modern era. No questions or doubts about it.

He might be around the 30th percentile. Putting him anywhere near lincoln, roosevelt, washington, truman, jefferson is ridiculous.

He fits right in with buchanan and pierce and millard filmore.

I'm more of a transactional voter. You can't trust anything any politician says while campaigning, but nevertheless I make a judgment on who will pursue the policies I like. (That's why I haven't voted for a Dem since conservative Texas Supreme Court Justice Raul Gonzalez was running).

So, I voted for Trump three times. It was clear by this last cycle that with Trump you had to take the bad to get the good, like immigration. But he screwed us. He didn't care at all what we thought about inflation and war. He gave lip service to abortion. He deliberately supported candidates that could not win. Even after Tuesday's disaster, he goes around claiming that it would have been different if he had been on the ballot. He is a complete buffoon. How do you rate a president who did exactly what a majority wanted, like immigration, but at the same time screwed us? He's not close to the greatest if you define greatest as leading to the greater good. I would call him as the greatest of all time getting the opposition elected.

I will say one thing though - his disruptions could have ended up for the better, like if his antics causes Congress to finally pull their collective head out of their arse and starts asserting their authority to legislate and reduce the power of the imperial presidency. If you want a damn war, ask Congress to declare war. If you want to apply a tariff against your largest trading partner so lumber prices will go up 20%, ask Congress to apply a tariff. But that's not likely to happen either - the Dems will only extend government power. So back to the point - Trump screwed us.
