I'm ready for the Trump era to be over

I'm done with it. The lack of any fiscal conservativism whatsoever, the idiotic foreign policy, the pretend (I hope) misunderstanding of trade deficits and tariffs, the entirely self-inflicted gaffes, the corruption, all of it.

I'm ready for an actual conservative to put forth a message and a vision that isn't marred by constant personal drama. I'm ready for someone who manhandles the press but isn't putting forth absolutely ******ed policy and then expecting clapping seals in response, even when he's wrong.

I'm ready for someone who isn't an octogenarian like Biden and Trump.

Can we have someone bold, who actually believes in fiscal conservatism and a no-nonsense attitude with the media at the same time? Can we have someone who is not accepting of the degenerate excesses of the TQ+ movement? Can we have someone who calls out the race-communist tactics of the far left? Can we have someone who believes in maintaining our allyships and not screwing ourselves on the international level? Can we have someone who actually gives a damn about aggressively prosecuting internal corruption and not just using it as a campaign platitude? Can we have someone who will genuinely prosecute those instrumental in the most destruction during the Covid-19 hysteria? Can we have someone who will have internal ideological consistency whatsoever?

I am sick of the drama, the 69d chutes & ladders, the corruption, the failure, and the absolute refusal by Trump (and any other leader) to give an honest explanation of why they cannot or will not do something.

Trump's second term is horrendously worse than his first. I do not like the Democrats and only vote for exceptions if ever. Trump, however, is savaging the Republican brand and needs to go. I will be glad when he's gone in 2029.

Good luck with that, no president in history has ruled "conservatively" its political suicide. Also, I voted for him for one thing to secure the border. Next president no matter what party will open the border again.

Unicorn farts.

You believe in unicorn farts.

Unfortunately Trump is the closest you are ever going to come just because he ****ed up the system for a couple decades and slowed down the political ambitions of the Uni party.

You'll look back fondly on these years and you'll never get what you want in your lifetime.

I'm guessing there is an authoritarian single party state in the USA within this century & millions will die to make it happen.

Also, Trump tried to do a lot of things but was stopped by RINOs and liberals...DOGE for example.

Trump is not fiscally conservative, at all.

Bill Clinton's last term is the closest thing we got to fiscal conservatism.

Trump is somewhere between socialist light and a spoiled rich child when it comes to fiscal policy. DOGE was a distraction to go after political enemies...

Well Desantis was an option. And he was by far the most accomplished conservative option. But for some reason, we had to have Trump again. And people let Trump's attacks actually influence their opinion of Desantis instead of ACTUAL POLICY.

Maybe we will be lucky and he will run again.

Well doing all you can to discourage GOP voting and helping elect socialists is bound to end in fiscal conservatism. Genius plan.

There's only drama because the left creates the drama. It's all about creating nonstop chaos so the useful idiots will think if they just vote democrat all the chaos will end.
Don't fall for it. This is 100% on the left and the MSM.

Corruption seems to be the top talking point word used by Dems this voting season. Where is all this corruption? Virtually everything Trump has fine has been obstructed by the judicial branch for all sorts of dreamed up reasons and gets ok'd nearly every time.

What a whiny post and the resident libs starred the hell out if it. I have a Trump 2028 magnet on my work vehicle just to trigger the Libs. I wish he was a dictator and just stayed in office til he died then hand it over to Eric or Don Jr.
Republicans may not fix all your problems but you can be damn sure Democrats cause ALL of them.

I don't disagree, but this paints a very bleak picture for the future. Think about what you're saying. In your own words, you said you were a single issue voter…that can't even get the single issue you voted for. Best you can get is a mere tap on the breaks regarding one single issue. Meanwhile, all of the other looming crises continue unabated…or more likely, exacerbated. It's one step forward and multiple leaps backwards.

So to summarize the situation we're in. We're careening towards a cliff and the choices for who we put in the drivers seat are: the Republican Party that wants to tap the breaks while their foot is still on the accelerator…and the Democrats who just want to put the petal to the metal.

Are you new to politics? Drama has been in politics all the way back since the beginning.

What you want is an establishment type of president? Get along with everyone? Our foreign friends from every country have been given incredible trade deals. You think it's fair for our goods to be taxed by 50% going into another country while we tax them 10%? LOL. No!

I have material differences of opinion on how this country should be led and nothing about the Bush family, as an example, is what I want.

Good news OP - this era will end in two years.

Trump is not a conservative. Never has been. Having said that, I voted for him thrice given the craptastic alternatives.

This country better elect an actual conservative, or another Republican - or the rats in the commie Democrat party will go right about destroying this country.

If you look at the last 40ish years, there are quite a few presidents whose economic policies & decisions were more conservative than Trump. Including the odd Democrat or two.

Granted, if someone were to engage in some austerity program to make a serious dent in the national debt, it probably would be political suicide. That said, there's no reason to go around spending money like a rich teenage girl in a designer shoe store.

No two ways about it……..Trump's spending habits have been a major disappointment. Once upon a time this forum said the National Debt might be the single most important issue facing this country. Now……..despite the debt soaring……….mostly this forum has been crickets.

OP thinks he could have gotten things like a secure border, end USAID, Power projecting FP instead of managed decline under a Bush/Romney type establishment RINO he wants so badly?

And you think the Dem media would treat them any differently? You think every headline wouldn't be that we're living under a Hitler dictatorship in the apocalypse and that everything is ending unless we give Democrats power back?

If that's your idea of good government I hope you never vote again

This a perfect example of what so many GOPers are tired of. Many folks are beginning to feel embarrassed they supported Trump which will only grow worse during his final two years. His approval rating will continue to drop and he will continue to double and triple down on the stupidity.

We're already seeing the start of it with many GOP politicians distancing themselves from Trump during the mid-terms. Even this board will eventually turn on him in large scale too.

Trump 2 has been double edged sword.

The border stuff has been amazing. Cutting fed employment amazing. Controlling spending, not great.
