I realized how far right this board was and stopped regularly posting because of how easily I'd allow myself to get trolled and ticked off.

The fact of the matter is, there may be 30% extreme on the right and left both, but that still leaves the 40% of us that are just exhausted with it all. Both sides exhibit so much hate that they act okay with other Americans being slaughtered for their political leanings? Charlie Kirk was a tragedy and a damn wound on this country. It's absolutely NO DIFFERENT than The 30% left's response.

Heinously supporting the murder(s) of innocent (I acknowledge I have previously expressed the opinion that capital punishment be banned in a Constitutional Amendment.). Americans is not how we vote.

Legit. I let myself be rage-baited into being told I was this or that simply because of something someone else said. And I'd respond defensively. I'm struggling with this thread, but I will not let them beat me into apathy.

Honestly, can anyone tell me they didn't view "deplorables" as a personal attack? How do you think I want to respond when suggested all should do this, or be committed, or eliminated. If one thing is consistent, I can confidently say I don't discriminate or hate anyone. I try (yes struggling is a human trait) to love all, even the mother-in-law living in my house. I watched the video and I took his point to be that the pain of paying high prices for gas pales in comparison to the alternative, which could include losing an American city like LA or SD.

If that's NOT what he meant, and if he truly joked that they'd be doing us a favor by annihilating LA or SD, then I agree that was an awful thing to say and warrants a huge apology.
And not just because my wife's ultra-conservative family live in SD.

He says some incredibly dumb stuff that a president shouldn't say, 95% of it doesn't even make it to the board because we are numb to it.

Anybody who watches that knows what he was saying, that high gas prices are a low cost compared to an attack on SD or LA, not that bombing them is a small price to pay.

Now, whether them bombing SD or LA ever was an actual risk or just a false narrative to justify a dumb war that has lasted too long is a different question.
