Living in a desert and hearing flooding is coming your way definitely hits different. Can attest to this. Spent majority of my life in the desert.

I'm not really a fan of desert climates. I like them more lush but then again I have the most of my life in Texas. It's so dry here/cracked around in places in Bryan right now. It's gonna take a while for the initial heavy range to soak in.

The last few months have been the stuff you'd see in a Roland Emmerich movie. The earth is changing into something a bit more hostile to our survival. I don't necessarily think it's human caused.

My grandad always said "after every long dry spell, it comes a rain". I guess it's really coming this time.

These rapid drought/flood condition swings are going to become the norm as time goes on in the south and southeast. It's just the nature of rising average temperatures in the region.

Mets blew their load on Sunday.
They were forecasting 4-6" of widespread rain and flash flooding.
Yesterday it was 2-4" predicted.
This morning it's 1-2" of rain and "scattered flash flooding"
This is trending towards a nothing burger.
