Russian diesel production hurt by Uke bombings. Middle eastern crude supplies (feedstock) limited so higher price. Most US gulf coast production exported so it's filling that global demand. Lots of factors.

Because we are sending a lot of it (1.7 to 1.9 million barrels a day) to Europe (about half of their requirements, India also provided a lot).

They've cheered/funded their gas station getting bombed, and it has now become a problem for American consumers. There are quite a few ironies in the whole situation, though again the notion of 'solving' any of this problem with a diesel export ban is ridiculous.

Nothing happens overnight and unfortunately, with our Iran sitch and FJB's NO to everything petroleum, we are having to use drastic measures to save ourselves politically.

Investment is the answer and that takes time to yield the desired outcome. We need new refineries and supply. Remove all regulatory. Incentivize the industry to grow. Make it politics proof for 20 years and pray we win in 2028.
