Nothing happens overnight and unfortunately, with our Iran sitch and FJB's NO to everything petroleum, we are having to use drastic measures to save ourselves politically.
Investment is the answer and that takes time to yield the desired outcome. We need new refineries and supply. Remove all regulatory. Incentivize the industry to grow. Make it politics proof for 20 years and pray we win in 2028.
Drill baby drill
Doesn't work and neither will this at the end of the day making diesel is not profitable enough to build excess refining capacity Prior to Russia invading Ukraine there was plenty of global refining capacity
The problem is Trump was unable to fulfill the campaign promise of ending the Russia Ukraine war. With one major conflict that affects global O&G markets was still going. He went full ****** and started another one.
Trump made the same mistake W made. Instead of wrapping up the current war he decided I will just topple a regime which has been preparing for this conflict for decades then "take the oil"
Both thought they could easily topple very militant regimes and break OPEC with the new reserves that would be under American control There are plenty of dangerous regimes The US only tries to topple the ones that have resources we need.
