And leftist extremists are an exponentially larger % of their adherents, some like Bernie Sanders are truly Communistic. Compared to the leadership on the right who condemns those radicals claiming to be on the right.
Look at the orators in our republics; as long as they are poor, both state and people can only praise their uprightness; but once they are fattened on the public funds, they conceive a hatred for justice, plan intrigues against the people and attack the democracy.

I've said before and I'll say again, I have a significant dislike for both the Socialist Totalitarianism of the left and the Theocratic Totalitarianism of the right.

They are no different to me. Both seek to rule and oppress through the heavy hand of an armed government. **** all of them.

Sorry, I could not have any less respect for anyone who believes mentally ill men belong in my daughter's sports, showers or locker rooms. Or that pretends to have trouble with defining what a woman is. I genuinely respect neo-nazis more, and see them as less of a threat to me and my family. And I don't respect neo-nazis, but everything is relative.

Please point to where I said that I agreed with that *****

I never meant to imply that you did. You equated the two, I simply made the point that I think the modern left is even worse and more insane.

I would actually probably agree with a neo-nazi on a lot of things, maybe to a lesser degree. Like, I bet they are are against widescale H-1B policy and it's abuse.

I am not sure I would agree with a modern leftist on ANY policy positions.

I laid out exactly how they are alike. It's very simple. The end goal is exactly the same. Oppressive, authoritarian government.

You said they are "no different" to you. I respect that, i was just offering my opinion, which is a little different. It's a message board with free discourse. Just meant it to highlight how insanely awful and repugnant I find the modern left to be. Genuinely insane.

So JD Vance is linked to nazism, but a Democrat candidate with an actual nazi tattoo and abusive history is totally not connected to nazism because it's only a right-wing thing.

Seems legit.

Nazi supporters in the US see in their present circumstances that their government is implementing policies that very often are against their own citizens' interests.

They then look back in history for the last major nation that visibly put its citizens' interests first, and they arrive at Nazi Germany. Hitler was all about the visible signs of putting Germans first, with territorial gains (to undo the humiliation of Versailles via taking back their gains from Brest-Litovsk), massive public works expenditures, and racial preference codified into law.

But none of that was truly in the Germans' best interests. Maybe it looks good on paper, but unprovoked war is wrong. The Holocaust was wrong. And evidence points to Hitler actually nearly bankrupting the state prior to the outbreak of war. Not good.

The reality is that the best thing for the German people back then was returning to Christianity. Too bad the Nazis were pretty much atheists. Christianity is the only thing that will save our nation here in the present day

So the OP's premise is basically just another round of TDS afflicted fan fiction written wearing a "conservative" cloak to generate clicks from braindead leftists and offer another talking point about some non-existent problem with Trump/the right.

Can we please stop with this trope? It's lazy, insulting, and, frankly, really tired.

The Nazis are all in the democrat party. You can recognize Nazis as the ones that want gun control, centralized government control, ethnic cleansing/abortion, rigged elections, rampant corruption and total media control for propaganda purposes.

I think they have to rationalize the Holocaust because they've already decided the Nazis were "based" overall. That line of thinking spawns so much idiocy.

That's a bit of an oversimplification. Hitler's view of and definition of socialism was drastically different from how we define it or how it's defined as pertaining to Marxism/Communism (which Hitler despised). Some examples:

"In essence, the noblest nationalism is nothing other than refined socialism, just as socialism can be nothing other than nationalism, namely faithful devotion to the totality of one's own people."

-Speech at a Nazi Party meeting in Rodenkirchen, May 24, 1932.

"Socialism is the science of dealing with the common weal. Communism is not Socialism. Marxism is not Socialism. The Marxians have stolen the term and confused its meaning. I shall take Socialism away from the Socialists."

-As recorded in a 1923 Interview with Adolf Hitler.

(Definition of weal is "a state of well-being and prosperity")

"Socialism does not repudiate private property. Socialism involves no negation of personality. Socialism is patriotic."

-From a 1932 interview with George Sylvester Viereck on the Nazi form of socialism.

The easy way to say this is that the post WWII international order, or perhaps the post-Cold War order (they're intimately related) has been a mixed bag for the US. That's what President Trump keeps pointing out when he says we're getting a "bad deal". We traded ensuring open maritime lanes and being able to write other's defense policy for access to our markets. That was rational to oppose the Soviets, but irrational today.

So these people aren't post-liberal, they are anti-post-1965 policy.

What do you go back to? Well, "WWII was a disaster for the US" or "the wrong side won WWII".

I think the post 1965 critique lands, but the pro-Germany stance is silly. If you really want to explore some interesting counterfactuals tho, possibly the wrong side won World War I. That is a much more interesting (and palatable) line of inquiry.

vance himself is not a neo-nazi, he just winks at them from time to time in keeping with the "no enemies to the right" ethos he shares with his contemporaries.

the actual neo-nazis hate vance for this, of course. fuentes called him a "fat, gay race traitor who married a j**t." they tolerate vance because he's the closest thing they have to a sympathetic ear in a position of power. each will happily dispose of the other the moment this tenuous alliance ceases to serve their respective ambitions.

Political commentor Erick Erickson (right leaning) for the past few days has been exposing the growing ultra right wing movement in conservative political circles and is taking flak for it.

https://ewerickson.substack.com/p/the-midwestern-fuhrerbunker-driving

Quote:

A group of white guys have subtly inserted themselves into conservative institutions and church organizations. They all embrace racial grievances. To varying degrees, they embrace white nationalism, antisemitism, and even Nazi sympathies. They are getting added to conservative institutional boards, attempting to purge churches, and are desperate to indoctrinate young conservatives into fascist ideology. They even surround the Vice President of the United States. Some of them believe the United States is at a tipping point, and they want to push it over the edge and rebuild it in their image. You might think it does not affect you, but, in time, you will see their efforts in your church pews, in your kids' brains, and in your politicians' mouths. It begins with shampoo.
Charles Haywood made his fortune selling shampoo. He sold his Indianapolis hair care company in 2020, and he has spent the years since writing out, at length and under his own name, what he would like to do with your country. Rod Dreher, who is no man of the left, read Haywood's online ramblings and described Haywood as pouring out vile from "deep in his Midwestern Fhrerbunker".
In a document he calls the Foundationalist Manifesto, Haywood explained that his preferred government "will not be democratic." The state "will have unlimited means," because "properly viewed, the state is not constrained externally." Women "will not be permitted to choose career over family." Men "will not be permitted to choose not to have a family." The state will seize the assets of "any citizen who views himself as a global citizen.

He is also linking VP Vance to this
Quote:

Vice President Vance has refused to distance himself from the groyper movement and will not forcefully denounce the antisemites. Rod Dreher, who had been his friend and an early champion of his memoir, went to him last fall and urged him to draw that line. Dreher says Vance cut him off and the friendship is over. Unfortunately, the Vice President keeps all of it within arm's reach. Haywood's foundation is a recurring funder of American Moment, the staffing pipeline founded in 2021 with Vance's support, which exists to place young conservatives in administration jobs. Vance has identified himself with the postliberal right on a stage with Patrick Deneen and Kevin Roberts, and told that audience there is no meaningful distinction between the public and the private sector in the American regime. That is not a slip of the tongue. He believes it.

Erickson is in the Dave French camp of "right wing Christian commentators" that I don't listen to.

I don't think Vance will drop the neo Nazis- he seems to think that they are a big, growing voting block and that he therefore needs their support to further his career.

The most likely outcome imo will be that Vance loses his next election due to his naivete, and the neo Nazis will then drop him like Andy dropped Woody in Toy Story. They'll probably say Vance wasn't sufficiently committed to their cause and repeat Fuentes's idiocy

The woke right and the DSA are opposite sides of the same political coin, but both have the same ideological goals of imposing their version of a totalitarian state, and eliminating Israel and Jewish people.

The DSA is close to taking over the Democrat Party and are the real threat to this country.

The knuckle draggers of the woke right are a bunch of loudmouths online and little else. Heck, many of their so called leaders like Tucker and Fuentes are openly supporting the DSA.

This sounds like the 90s tactic of trying to hang David Duke around the neck of every Republican.

Simple thought experiment that disproves this "different sides of same totalitarian coin" nonsense:

The "far right" would easily take the system of government installed by our founding fathers right now. The "far right" just wishes we could go back to how things were at the founding of the country.

The left wants to do destroy everything about the founding of this country. In fact, destroying the country is the purpose of their existence.

I find myself increasingly frustrated by the casual invocation of the term "NAZI" without genuine comprehension of its historical significance. My father and uncles engaged in direct combat against actual Nazis during World War II. My father personally participated in the liberation of one of the concentration camps and possessed firsthand knowledge of what Nazism truly represented. Additionally, a neighbor who worshipped at our church was an active member of the White Rose resistance movement, courageously opposing the Nazi regime. She endured profound personal losses, including the deaths of her parents and husband at the hands of the Nazis. The contemporary practice of deploying the term "Nazi" in conservative movement discourse constitutes a profound disrespect to the generation of my father, whose members made extraordinary sacrifices and gave their lives to defeat genuine Nazism.

If you're ostensibly on the right and you have an issue with the positions of the people you consider "far right," the problem you run in to is you're now essentially a leftist arguing against the founding principles of the country.

People labeled "Nazis" in today's political climate are far more closely aligned (if not in lockstep) with our founding fathers, while normie cons are far closer to modern leftists than to the founders.

As far as I can tell, the ONLY reason the Nazi party was identified as "right" wing (whatever the hell that means*) is because they fought against Communists. It wasn't because their ideas were substantially different, it was because either they were in each others' way in terms of a power struggle, or, in the case of Nazi German and the Communist Soviet Union, they were trying to destroy each other.

The only other reason is that the left wants to dishonestly paint conservatives with a Hitler brush.

*"Right Wing" or more accurately conservative, extremism doesn't make sense unless you can show a government or group of people who are forcing others into compelled free speech (an oxymoron), compelled gun ownership and excessive expression of 2nd Amendment-type rights, compelled limited government and/or low tax rates, and excessive personal freedom. Show me any such dictatorial government in history with those principles and I'll start to engage in "right wing extremism" discussion.

The Vance discourse is hilarious. People this board would consider Nazis already hate Vance.

He's a puppet of rich gay Jews and he had a Hindu wedding in India. He was a borderline libertarian anti-Trump guy who said people hate Obama because they're jealous and racist. Now he's become a chameleon to try to go with the political winds.

He's as fake a candidate as there has ever been and he does not have any support among the far right.
