[We are going to remove derailing posts and trolling posts and the posters that make them until after this Tropical Storm makes landfall. There is your warning. -Staff]

Predicted to make landfall in Texas by Friday. This would be an awful turn of events after last week's flooding.

With Hormuz shut down again, might impact gas prices as it's going through LA and TX refineries.

Bring it. We still have a good number of reservoirs to fill and this is how it happens.

Reporting from the middle of the gulf as we speak.
The water is blue, the waves are calm, all good 16 hours out from Cozumel.

That thing is already in the northeast part of the gulf. Highly unlikely it makes it to Texas as a tropical storm or much of anything beyond some showers.

I have seen three or four posts by big city meteorologists in which the verbiage is "too soon to tell" which it is, and that it could go south of us or up through the states east of us, but the map posted with that verbiage all show a direct hit on Houston. Surprise, surprise!

All reports I've seen say not a drop of that water will go to Lake Mathis. It's all in the Colorado and Guadalupe river systems.

Lake Mathis will fill and Choke Canyon will be 25-30% full from the recent rain. We need a tropical storm/depression right through South Texas at this point. We got a whopping 0.8" in Atascosa County last week.

Hurricane Alicia says hi. Agree it is not forecast to be much, but storms from that area have hit Houston as significant hurricanes early in the season in the past.

Im ok with that coming to west texas in a week. Just had 13.25" from Monday to Friday. The level of green with lush grass and forb growth would absolutely blow my mind. Would be such a lovely blessing to counteract the fright and possible consequences of screwworm

I'm supposed to be driving to Florida starting Wednesday.
Is Texas to Florida on I-10 doable?
Can I go a different route?

Send me a report that says that. I need to let the national weather service know they are wrong.

European Model total accumulated precip through noon next Wednesday (July 29th):

Euro seems to be predicting a sheared storm that will have most of the precip well east of the center of rotation.

That is good news as the people that live on the Nueces river near Calallen are already facing major flooding once the flood gates have to be opened in a couple of weeks at Lake Mathis.

That sounds like what I'll have to do. I'm going to Ocala/Orlando. What's halfway for overnight stay? Jackson? I'm worried hotels will get booked for people leaving the gulf area.

Its not supposed to develop to more than a Tropical Storm. I doubt too many will be evacuating.

Is I-10 drivable through a TS? I'm thinking it is if don't go through New Orleans.
