Musk is a Bond villain??

The Financial Times clearly has not heard of George Soros who literally tried to collapse the financial system of two different countries. And has spent his life usurping and subverting Western ideological countries by promoting pro-crime policy and buying politicians.

Meanwhile, Musk ushers in the age of EV and driverless cars and single-handedly saves and advances space exploration for the West.

JFC, can the MSM gaslight us any more? It's never ending.

Ultimately, I think this needs to lead to a discussion of wealth on paper vs actual wealth. The notion that Musk actually wields assets worth $1 trillion is ridiculous for anyone who understands liquidity. Staring in envy at a man who has a stack of paper that says $1 trillion on it makes no sense. He can't sell hardly any of it without cratering the value. Hell, if he tried to sell even 10% of his stock in SpaceX, he'd probably make more paper wealth vanish than he made during the IPO.

The whole damn thing is a foundation made out of sand. We're setting ourselves up for an absolutely catastrophic crash the next time something goes wrong, because we can't learn our ****ing lesson.

Agreed, but good luck having that conversation with the people who are crying about it. Democrats have zero understanding of math or economics as it is. Adding this to the plate will overwhelm their pea brains.

Dems just can't stand to see someone so successful, while they greedily amass all the money and power they can by hook or crook.

Try having a conversation with the people *laughing* about it. Asset inflation is a huge problem in general. Musk may not be able to sell hardly any of his stock, but that paper valuation is like a dinner bell to the banks. For some reason, they don't care one iota about how easily that paper wealth can vanish like a fart in the wind. They're all too eager to loan out cash hand over fist backed by that piece of paper.

The net effect? Everything gets inflated to absurd prices, and everyone like me gets to watch our paycheck become more and more irrelevant.

The vitriol coming from the terrorist supporting, child mutilation loving left over Musk's wealth is astonishing. Expected, but astonishing nonetheless.

Heck right here on this board we had concerned moderates making threads each time Tesla's stock dropped.

In retrospect those were good times to buy it.

An IPO which skipped the institutional investor vetting, couldn't qualify under prior NASDAQ rules so they changed the rules for them, and launched at over 100x earnings with an early cash out rule exception for insiders is concerning as hell. If people want to invest in a company like this then all the power to them.

But if you are an institutional investor or someone with a 401k you are now forced to invest in an overvalued and unprofitable company because they are listed in a major exchange. The entire NASDAQ is going to ebb and flow based on this one stock.

This is all just becoming a big meme.

Every major tech IPO of the last decade, one year in.

Facebook down 54%
Uber down 68%
Lyft down 79%
Robinhood down 90%

Moral of the story.....Get out early or get left holding the bag.

Yesterday's Ben Shapiro podcast on this subject is excellent. I know a lot of people don't like him but whatever your opinion, this one is worth a listen.

If a liberal could be honest with themselves (yeah I know, unicorns are more common) they would turn conservative in 30 mins.

I have always been a fan of Elon as you know. And I've never been accused of being a concerned moderate LOL.

What I did not like was the government mandating EVs. Early Teslas had a bunch of problems, too, and it was amazing to watch the early adopters twist themselves into knots defending some boneheaded engineering at times.

That tweet was pointing out that the SpaceX IPO generated/created over 4000 new millionaires.

I don't know the details of it, but apparently some folks that do ran the numbers. SpaceX has/had a tenure based, priority a buy in,employee equity program. Apparently even some janitors and cafeteria workers joined the millionaire ranks.

I had always wanted to be the first at something really major. Climbing Mount Everest had been done, someone had walked on the moon, so I got the idea of becoming the first trilionaire. Musk beat me it seems and if someone did, I am very happy Musk was the one. I had set aside $383 toward my goal but somewhere along the way he got lucky and the rest is history.

But he better watch it, I am gunning for being the first quadrillionaire.

This is not a political statement:

If you made $1,000 dollars a day, it would take you 2.74 years to be a millionaire.
To be a billionaire, it would take you 2,739.7 years.
To be a trillionaire, it would take you 2.7 million years.

If you had started at the dawn of human civilization, you'd have around $107,000,000,000.

This is a political statement. I hope that he reads Andrew Carnegie's Gospel of Wealth and takes it to heart.

Generally speaking I'd rather business men run businesses so well they benefit society than business men use their immense wealth to manipulate society. Whether that's in politics or through "charity." The benefits of electric vehicles compounds, grid scale batteries compounds, Neuralink compounds, Starlink compounds, Optimus compounds. They radically improve society for the entire world over the long run. Vast majority of charity does not. Vast majority of government spend does not.

You could convince me that some DraftKings billionaire should engage in that, but that's because their core business sucks. Problem with that is I'd bet their charitable actions would likewise suck.
